There are seven Australian universities in the world in the top 100. Among them, , the University of Melbourne ranked 34th in the world and ranked first in Australian universities. The rest are Monash University , University of Queensland , University of Sydney , Australian National University , University of New South Wales and University of Adelaide .
This year, there are more abundant colleges and universities on the list, with a total of 1,799 universities in 104 countries and regions on the list, an increase of 137 from last year, which is the largest in the 19-year history of this ranking.
Times Higher Education World University Rankings mainly ranks universities based on five performance indicators, namely teaching (learning environment); research (number of papers, income and reputation); citations (scientific research influence); industrial income (knowledge transformation); and international outlook (academic personnel, students and research), accounting for 30%, 30%, 30%, 2.5% and 7.5% respectively.
