In recent years, the Party Central Committee and the State Council have successively issued a series of important guiding documents such as the "Action Outline on Promoting the Development of Big Data" and the "Big Data Industry Development Plan 2016-2020", clarifying that big data has become a strategic commanding height for shaping the country's core competitiveness and a new engine for economic development. School of Public Administration, Tsinghua University, has specially established a graduate training program for the digital governance direction of master's degree (MPA dual certificate), integrating public management with big data governance, organically combining public management theory with data governance technology, in order to promote my country to accelerate digital development and the construction of a digital China, and cultivate a group of compound public management talents with big data governance thinking and big data governance capabilities.

4. Special courses
Relying on the platform support of research institutions such as the Philosophy and Social Sciences Laboratory of the Ministry of Education-Tsinghua University's Computational Social Sciences and National Governance Laboratory, Public Management and Decision-making Science Laboratory (E-Government Laboratory), Tsinghua University Internet Governance Research Center, Tsinghua China Electronic Data Governance Engineering Research Institute, MPA-digital governance has set up special courses such as "Digital Era and Public Governance", "Big Data Governance and Policy", and "E-Governance", and are supplemented by field research and case studies, closely combining theoretical teaching with research practice, striving to use rigorous academic training to enable students to better understand theoretical knowledge, cultivate independent research ability, and achieve the talent training goal of applying what they have learned.
The core course "Big Data Governance and Policy" in this direction is seamlessly connected with the " Tsinghua University Big Data Capability Improvement Project" and is a credit course for the capacity improvement module of this project. The "Tsinghua University Big Data Capability Improvement Project" is organized and designed by . Through a multi-disciplinary cross-integration big data course system, students' big data analysis and innovative application capabilities are cultivated and improved. MPA students can apply for registration. After completing the corresponding module courses according to the project requirements, they will have the opportunity to obtain the "Tsinghua University Big Data Ability Improvement Project" certificate.
5. Learning method
class location is Tsinghua University.
Learning period: 2.5-4 years, the learning methods include the following two types, and students can choose according to the situation.
1. Segmented classes: that is, one concentrated every semester, each study is about 6 weeks. The course study has a total of 4 semesters.
2. Night and weekend classes: course study for 4 semesters in total.
6. Tuition and Scholarship
Tsinghua University Master of Public Administration (MPA) tuition fee is RMB 99,000. The fees can be paid in one time when registration is registered in the first academic year; or half each will be paid in two batches when reporting in the first and second academic years.
The School of Public Administration has established MPA freshman scholarships and scholarships.
