Modern Express News (Correspondent Wei Guangyin) Recently, the 2022 Yancheng Youth Table Tennis Championship ended successfully, with a total of 344 athletes from 12 teams from counties (cities, districts) and municipal schools across the city participating.
This event has 8 groups: 16-19 years old, 14-15 years old, 13 years old, 12 years old, 11 years old, 10 years old, 9 years old, and 8 years old and below. It covers all primary school to junior high school and high school. There are 4 competition events based on male and female teams and singles. The participating athletes are recommended by each county (city, district) or school.
The competition process was tense and fierce, and the athletes worked hard, fully demonstrating their strength and wisdom, and winning waves of applause and praise. After three days of fierce competition, the top eight singles in each group were decided respectively. The teams of Tinghu District , Yandu District , and Dafeng District won the top three teams in the total team scores. The teams of Tinghu District, Dongtai City , and Yancheng Luming Road Junior High School won the Sports Ethics and Style Award.
It is reported that Yancheng table tennis competition has a strong foundation and has trained and delivered generations of outstanding table tennis players. In the just-concluded table tennis competition of the 20th Provincial Games, the city's athletes won 3 gold, 2 silver and 2 bronze medals. Among them, Li Hang and Jin Zhiwei and other gold medal athletes gradually trained and grew up through the city youth competitions, and finally stood on the championship podium of the Provincial Games.
