First time/failed
My experience in taking the Dalf C1 exam can be described as twists and turns. I am a law school student. I took the Dalf C1 exam for the first time in 2019 when I was a senior in college in Shanghai.

But I felt that as a law student, it would be a pity not to take the Dalf exam, so I decided to prepare for the exam again.

While working, I was preparing for the exam in Guangzhou in November 2021. Because I get off work very late, I basically watch the replays of the previous day’s class the next day.

I then signed up for the exam in Chengdu in March 2022. I studied French with Big Face from January to the Spring Festival. After the Spring Festival, one month before the exam, I made a table to plan 4 hours of French learning time for myself every day, and recorded the daily learning content in the table.
In addition to the big face French course, I also added practice tasks for my weak areas. Because I lived in France for a period of time, I learned relatively well in listening and reading, including vocabulary accumulation.

Listening and reading are input-type abilities. The more you listen and read more, the more your abilities will improve accordingly. Therefore, I will listen to some content that I like in daily French listening every day, usually economics and current affairs news. Lord.
In terms of reading, I basically read an article from a French foreign journal every day, and I also choose the content I like, including economics, politics and culture.
Break through weak links
Speaking and writing are output-type abilities. For me, this is my weak point, especially the speaking part, which requires special practice. Since I was alone at home and there was no one with whom I could communicate in French, I began to think about how I could improve my speaking skills in this situation.
I found two more useful ways to practice speaking on the Internet, one is Shang Wenjie French learning method, and the other is called shadow reading method (interested friends can Baidu for the specific content).
I personally like the shadow and pronunciation method. It is easy and fun, and it is really helpful for improving your speaking level.This method helps practice speaking speed, accent and fluency.

However, for the DALF C1 exam, speaking French well is only part of the test. The other part is how to make a complete exposé and express your own opinions logically and with content.
Regarding how to be a good exposé, Big Face French’s course provided me with a lot of help. After taking the oral part of the course, I understood why my speaking score in the first test in Shanghai was so low.

I am also sorting out how to improve my writing skills, because there are very few opportunities to write French articles. In my opinion, writing is divided into two parts. One part is basic grammar such as spelling, conjugation and coordination, and the other part is tense, sentence structure and the logic of writing.
For the basic part, I will find and correct my mistakes by doing dictée. As for the more difficult parts, it is still recommended to hand over the French content you write to someone with a higher level of skills than yourself to help check and provide guidance.

In addition, you can try to recite celebrity speeches, because their speeches have been revised and improved many times, rigorous and logical, from which we can learn how to use authentic French words and sentences, and cultivate language sense, and also practiced listening and speaking.

The week before the exam, I mainly practiced several sets of simulation questions in Big Face French and reviewed all the content I studied.
