Under the "four-step" border opening plan announced by Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison last week, the return of international students to Australia is included in the second stage.
The entry exemption update of the Australian Immigration Bureau has added international students who participated in the pilot program to return to Australia, and fully responded to the "four-step" plan, and it shows that the Australian government has indeed begun to prepare for the return of international students to Australia.
For the majority of Australian international students, there are currently four situations in which they can apply for entry exemption:
1. Participate in the "International Student Return to Australia Pilot Program" approved by the relevant state or regional government and recognized by the Ministry of Education, Skills and Employment. international students can apply for an exemption.
2, a medical student studying in the last three years of the University's medical school, and determined to work in an Australian hospital or medical institution for the next two months to provide medical services to the public.
3, Students who are in the final two years of a university degree in medicine, dentistry, nursing or paramedicine and who have evidence of commencing an internship in an Australian hospital or medical facility within the next two months.
4. Students in dentistry, nursing and allied health who have studied in the last two years of university medical school and are determined to undertake internships in Australian hospitals or medical institutions in the next two months.
South Australia is the first to launch the international student return plan.
South Australia has taken the lead in obtaining the approval of the Australian federal government and has begun to deploy the international student return plan!
It is understood the approval of the plan is an important first in a series of steps to welcome international students back to South Australia.
The approved plans for international students to return to Australia include:
1. International students will have the opportunity to return to Australia in the next few months; 2. Quarantine; 3, the plan strictly complies with a series of public health requirements put forward by the Australian government; 4, this plan will not occupy Australians and permanent residents returning to Australia and resources.
