[CNMO News] The latest support file from Apple shows that since October, the SIM card released by Apple will not be able to continue to support the activation of supported iPad-related data package services. The reason has not been disclosed yet. There are speculations that it may be because Apple will mainly promote eSIM card next, so the existence of Apple SIM card has become a bit useless.

Apple SIM card was first released in 2014. It allows iPad users to activate the cellular data plan of multiple operators around the world. Apple uses the physical nano-SIM card, which users can purchase and sign a data agreement with Apple, so the SIM card is embedded in the iPad Pro model and cannot be taken out.
cellular iPad models that support this change are the following products:
iPad Air 2
iPad mini 3
iPad mini 4
first generation 12.9-inch iPad Pro
iPad 5
iPad 6
cellular iPad models include an embedded Apple SIM card:
9.7-inch iPad Pro
10.5-inch iPad Pro
second generation 12.9-inch iPad Pro
All iPad models listed above still have a physical SIM card tray. Apple's support documents also recommend customers contact their carriers to learn the details of how to activate cellular data plans on these iPad models, and Apple will not continue to support it.
