Win 11 support CPU list is still changing, Microsoft and manufacturers have their own plans

For the Win 11 operating system that will be released later, its hardware requirements have always been of great concern to players. In the earliest version of the Win11 system processor support list, we can see that AMD Ryzen processors/generation thread tearers, and Intel Core 8 processors before the eighth generation, are not within the scope of support for both desktop and mobile terminals. However, the Win 11 operating system has not yet been released, and the CPU support is still changing.

In the latest configuration requirements, Windows 11 adds support for some Intel processors: supports all Skylake-X processors, such as i9-7960X, i7-7980XE, i9-7900XM, i9-7940X, i9-7920X, i7-7800X, etc., in addition to the mobile terminal processor i7-7820HQ, etc. also appear in the list of support for upgrading. However, the first generation Zen CPU still does not support it. The reason given by Microsoft is that after careful analysis with AMD , it is believed that the first-generation Zen architecture processor is not suitable (upgrading to Windows 11), so the relevant models will not be added.

So old CPUs must not be able to use Win 11? ASUS did not give up these old users. Recently, some older models of motherboards have been upgraded to the BIOS. The earliest can be traced back to the 2015 100 series motherboards, that is, the 6th generation Core Skylake series, and the 7th generation Core Kabylake series. , Matching is the 200 series motherboard. And by upgrading the BIOS, the motherboard will turn on TPM by default, so that Win11 detection is also passed.

It seems that there is no technical problem in allowing old CPUs to support Win 11. Of course, ASUS also said that it is not sure whether the final version of Win11 will support it.
