According to previous reports, AMD has confirmed that the Radeon RX 7900 XTX is benchmarked against the GeForce RTX 4080. It is understood that the GeForce RTX 4080 will be officially released on November 16. Two days before the 4080 was released, AMD officially released a new slide, comparing its new graphics card with competitors. The first two slides of
AMD briefly introduces the main parameters of its own graphics card and compares it with GeForce RTX 4080. From the figure, we can see that AMD did not directly compare the number of stream processors of the graphics card . The 7900 series chose the number of calculation units, and the 4080 selected the number of SM units. The 7900 XTX has 96 computing units, while the 4080 has 76 SM units. The first two slides of
show that even the RX 7900 XT, which is located at a lower level, has a video memory capacity of more than 16GB of 4080, reaching 20GB, not to mention the 24G video memory of the RX 7900 XTX. In terms of supported DP interface versions, AMD also followed up with the latest DP2.1 protocol, which is higher than DP1.4 of 4080.
The third to fifth slides show the PCB, interface information and comparison with the 4080 size and power supply interface of the RX 7900 XTX. As can be seen from the figure, whether it is the previous flagship RX 6950 XT or the latest RX 7900 XTX, the measurement size of the graphics card is less than 4080. Comparing the 304mm length of the 4080, the length of the RX 7900 XTX is 287mm; the RX 7900 XTX is 2.5 thickness, and the RTX 4080 is 3 slot thickness. At the same time, both 7900 series graphics cards are powered by dual 8pin, while the 4080 uses single 16Pin powered by single 16Pin.
The last two slides were shown in performance. However, the RTX 4080 is not used as a comparison object, and there are only two new 7900 series graphics cards that compare with the previous flagship 6950 XT. It can be seen that among the several games displayed by AMD, the RX 7900 XTX has a maximum increase of 67% compared to the RX 6950 XT, and the minimum increase is also 51%. AMD is also showing that FSR can bring up to 82% frame rate improvement under 4K resolution and ray tracing.
It is understood that two 7900 series graphics cards will be officially released on December 13. The official price of the Radeon RX 7900 XT is 7399 yuan, and the Radeon RX 7900 XTX is 7999 yuan.
