The current flagship mobile phones have almost all cancelled the headphone jack, which has led to wireless headphones becoming a must-have accessory for mobile phone consumers.
AirPods Pro 2 and Samsung Galaxy Buds2 Pro are both excellent in terms of appearance design and listening to music, and are the first choice for many mobile phone consumers.
However, in terms of price, Samsung Galaxy Buds2 Pro has more advantages. Its original price is 1,299 yuan. Currently, the price is 200 yuan for Double 11, and you can get it at 1,099 yuan.
AirPods Pro 2, although it also dropped by 150 yuan during Double 11, from 1899 to 1749 yuan, is still 650 yuan more expensive than the headphones of Samsung .
In addition to the price difference, let’s compare and analyze AirPods Pro 2 vs. Samsung Galaxy Buds2 Pro: Which one should you choose?
1, appearance design
In appearance color matching, AirPods Pro 2 has no color choice because it only has white. However, the AirPods Pro 2 is light and comfortable in the ears, which can easily make users forget that the headphones are still in the ears.
AirPods Pro 2 also brings some new design and feature changes, most notably their charging case now has a lanyard hook and a speaker for alarms, which can be easily found if lost.
charging case now can be charged both wirelessly or via USB Type-Ch, and now it can even be charged via Apple Watch charger, which is very convenient if you have one. The AirPods Pro 2 earbuds and their case have IPX4 sweat-proof and waterproof features, so you don’t have to worry about getting damaged by rain while exercising or wearing headphones in the rain.
As for Samsung Galaxy Buds2 Pro, Buds owners before should also feel familiar. It has a wedding ring-style charging case made of matte plastic, which I personally find more attractive than glossy, and they do come in three colors, purple, black and white.
Unlike AirPods Pro 2, the Galaxy Buds2 Pro earbuds are "bean-shaped" and have no stems, which may be more attractive to some people and have almost no wearing experience. Galaxy Buds2 Pros have IPX7 waterproofing, but unfortunately, their case doesn't have an IP rating at all.
2, sound quality and active noise cancellation (ANC)
AirPods Pro 2 and Galaxy Buds2 Pro are all great for listening to music, both of which provide clean sound and tight bass. Despite the slight emphasis on the treble, the midrange appears so slight in the background. To be fair, this applies to almost all wireless headphones in this price range. Anyway, either of these two is excellent from a sound quality standpoint.
However, AirPods Pro 2 has a function called spatial audio. If you have iPhone and are using AirPods, you can enable the feature for a wider and exciting sound. It basically makes any music sound more spacious and vivid. In my opinion, most average listeners will like this feature and don't want to go back to normal sounds.
As for ANC, it is once again hard to recommend one of them, as they are almost at the same level at this point. Both the AirPods Pro 2 and Galaxy Buds2 Pro block almost all the low and mid-frequency sounds from your surroundings, with only some higher frequencies usually entering your ears. With ANC turned on and music played, both can successfully block the noise around you.
3, Touch control
AirPods Pro 2 has a touch-sensitive area on the stem, which you can easily feel when wearing, and you need to press hard to trigger the action. This can be to play or pause your music, jump to the next song or return to the previous song, toggle between ANC and transparent modes, and most notably, the AirPods Pro 2 also has a swipe gesture for volume control.
Just slide their stems up or down to raise or lower the volume, just like other touch gestures, this gesture is perfect and very useful.
Galaxy Buds2 Pro also has touch-sensitive areas, but it is easy to touch by mistake. You may inadvertently trigger other functions when trying to adjust the fit. While the Galaxy Buds2 Pro also has touch gestures for playback, pause, ANC, or ambient sounds, they do not have volume control gestures by default.
Of course, you can enable the volume control tap gesture from the Galaxy Wearable app (Android only), but even so, you need multiple taps to gradually increase or decrease the volume, and it's far less useful than Apple's headphones swipe up or down.
4, battery life
The separate AirPods Pro 2 earbuds can be used for up to 6 hours on a single charge. If space audio is turned on or active noise reduction is active, the battery life can only last 5.5 hours. But with the charging case, the battery life can last up to 30 hours.
As for the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro, the earbuds can be used alone for up to 5 hours with ANC on, but you can turn it off to extend battery life (up to 8 hours). If used with the charging case, you can use it for up to 18 hours with the ANC turned on or up to 29 hours with the ANC turned off.
5, mobile purchase recommendation
Since these two wireless headphones are excellent in sound quality and ANC, you should choose which one to buy based on the phone you are using now. If you have an iPhone, there is no doubt that you should go with the AirPods Pro 2.
But if you have an Android phone, especially Samsung phone , buy the Samsung Galaxy Buds2 Pro because their companion app Galaxy Wearable is only available for Android, providing additional features such as music equalizer, read aloud notifications and custom touch gestures.
