Orders for some custom configurations of the M2 MacBook Pro with upgraded unified memory won't ship until August. All 13-inch MacBook Pro models in the United States with the 24GB unified memory upgrade will be available for delivery from August 3 to August 10.
standard MacBook Pro models can be delivered on launch day (Friday, June 24), but other memory and hard drive configurations will not be available until at least July. Apple has dealt with Mac supply shortages for much of this year. The 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models, even in standard configurations, won't reach customers until mid-August in some cases.

Apple said these supply issues can be attributed to the epidemic of ongoing component shortages and manufacturing issues. During an earnings call in April, Apple's chief financial officer said the company expected ongoing supply issues to impact product sales in the third fiscal quarter of 2022. Apple experienced supply chain issues in the second quarter and expects those issues to worsen later in the year. The supply squeeze is expected to cost Apple between $4 billion and $8 billion and will affect many of Apple's product categories.
