Suspended particles in the air will be produced in any form, and as long as friction loss occurs during operation, it is possible to produce suspended particles. Take cars as an example. Even if all vehicles on the road are now turned into electric vehicles, although there is no exhaust gas emission, the particles generated by brake dust and tire wear will be discharged outward, accounting for 85% of the emission of suspended particles in transportation. Therefore, WHO is studying relevant specifications that will further limit the emission value of dust. Many car manufacturers have expressed difficulties in actual implementation after receiving the news, while Audi Auto has put forward new ideas.
The factory said that if the suspended particles discharged from vehicle consumables are to be continued to be reduced, it is indeed extremely difficult to implement, but if a filtration module similar to an air purifier can be installed outside the vehicle, it can at least solve the emission of the material produced by the vehicle itself.
Audi works with MANN+HUMMEL, a well-known German center filter manufacturer, to develop a dedicated outdoor air filter element with Audi e-tron as the leading model. This filter element is installed before cooling fan on the front end of the car. It can automatically filter the air when the front hits the wind when driving. Even if the vehicle is stationary, as long as the cooling fan is started, the air filtering effect can be achieved, and the installation method is quite simple.
Audi has conducted relevant tests with e-tron for up to 50,000 kilometers, indicating that the outside air filtration system does have substantial effects. When operating in heavily polluted areas, in addition to filtering out the particle mass emitted by e-tron itself, it also has the spare effort to filter more polluted gases. Audi said that the filter only needs to be replaced during regular maintenance, and 60% of the recycled substances are used as the raw material for manufacturing, and everything is based on environmental protection as the main purpose.
