GAC Aian has responded effectively to external doubts with its new technology On April 9, at the 2021 GAC Technology Day with the theme of "Smart Leading a Low-Carbon Future", GAC Group released the latest power battery technology strategy - "neutron star strategy", sponge silicon anode battery technology, super fast charging battery technology and ADiGO 4.0 smart driving interconnected ecosystem. This can be seen as GAC's powerful response to the "bragging" controversy. Because the silicon sponge negative electrode battery technology and super fast-charging battery technology mentioned at the meeting are exactly the battery technologies that GAC Aian previously predicted can achieve 1,000km of long range and 80% charging in 8 minutes. Having seen many similar press conferences, both the media and the public will inevitably have preconceived opinions. After all, Mr. Jia, who returns to China next week, has also held countless meetings and drawn countless cakes. But this time we might as well put aside our original views and positions, calm down and take a closer look from a technical perspective. The first show at the conference was a sponge silicon negative electrode battery that can achieve a long range of 1,000km.

Sponge silicon negative electrode sheet, as the name suggests, uses silicon-based negative electrode materials to replace the now common graphite negative electrode, significantly increasing the energy density of the battery. At the same time, through several technologies such as "nano-composite silicon technology", "self-healing adhesive technology" and "gradient composite coating technology", the silicon anode is made as soft and elastic as a sponge, changing the phenomenon of high expansion rate and short life of silicon-based anode materials.

The energy density of batteries using this technology can reach 280Wh/kg, and it can also reduce the size of the power battery cell by 20% and the weight by 14%. With higher energy density and smaller size, a battery pack of the same size naturally has a larger capacity. Similar technology has not appeared before. The battery of the already released Xiaomi 11ultra is also based on a similar silicon anode idea. While ensuring the battery is thin and light, it can achieve a large capacity of 5000mAh and 67w fast charging. GAC Aian has applied this battery to the current AION LX. When tested by a third-party agency according to the latest CLTC-P GUO standard operating conditions, the cruising range has reached 1006km.

The same goes for the next super fast-charging battery technology. In full compliance with the notice, the graphene-based conductive material is used, coupled with a coated ceramic separator and a new high-power electrolyte to reduce the internal resistance of the battery and improve the conductivity of the electrode material, battery rate performance and thermal stability. The 6C-500km and 3C-500km batteries using this new technology also met the charging requirements in the rate charging test conducted by GUO, an authoritative battery testing agency.
