The release of the latest concept car of Audi is approaching, and the company released another preview before it was released. The new concept model will be called Activesphere, which inherits the concepts of Skysphere, Grandsphere and Urbansphere.
Combining the height of the SUV and some slim details, Activesphere can be its replacement when the 2023 small sports car TT is discontinued. Audi says Activesphere “combines extraordinary elegance with outstanding off-road performance”.
Activesphere is an coupe crossover. Although this preview does not show us anything new about body design, we can see the layout of four seats inside. The interior will also feature Audi's next-generation cabin infotainment system, which the manufacturer says the concept's "communication technology creates a unique experience -- beyond the car itself."
This will be the fourth iteration of Audi's "sphere" concept, which suggests the future direction of the brand, not only in terms of design, but also in terms of the types of products the German company intends to offer. Audi hasn't revealed too much about the latest model it's pictured above, but we do know it's designed for self-driving and will be fully electric. The appearance of
Activesphere shows a steady, chic SUV with thick off-road tires and a long dive hood. Audi said the car "will provide the greatest variability for an active lifestyle." Details such as ultra-thin headlights, angular grille and wide wheel arches are all design features we see on the company's other "sphere" concept cars.
The German company has not outlined the technical specifications for its concept, but like Urbansphere, the Activesphere may be based on Audi's PPE platform, which could mean a battery capacity of about 120kWh and can travel more than 724 kilometers on a single charge.
Activesphere is the only SUV of the four models, Skysphere takes the form of a two-door convertible and focuses on autonomous driving, Grandsphere is a super luxury four-door sedan that heralds the future Audi A8 luxury sedan, and Urbansphere becomes a practical MPV-type machine suitable for big cities and focusing on interior spaces.
Audi describes the interior of its "sphere" concept car as the "third living space" and the Activesphere will be officially released on January 26, 2023.
