People who are in happiness will see everything sunny, their world is colorful, and their hearts are naturally full of vitality. So, what is the most painful thing in the world?

In the world we live in, all kinds of happiness and misfortunes are being staged every day. People who are in happiness will see everything sunny, their world is colorful, and their hearts are naturally full of vitality.

. People who are in misfortune may only see a dark or even darkness in their eyes, and the frustration in their hearts is unspeakable.

So, what is the most painful thing in the world? Human beings have been constantly looking for answers since ancient times. And a short story seems to explain something to people...

According to legend, one summer, Sakyamuni was teaching in Royal City. Four new monks came to a secluded tree to enjoy the cool air. Because the heat is hard to bear, the four new monks talk under the shade of the tree, mainly exchanging learning experience.

But I don’t know how I changed the topic. In your eyes, what is the most painful thing in the world.

One of them thought for a while and said that the most painful thing in the world is the lustful heart. Once it grows, it will bring pain to people and even kill themselves.

Another believes that the most painful thing in the world is hunger. If a person has no food and no water to drink, wouldn’t he be left with despair?

The third one believes that the fear and fear that you encounter suddenly, that is, disasters from the sky are the most painful.

The fourth one happened to be the first person to ask this question. He commented on the answers of the three people, thinking that what they said was wrong, and said that the most painful thing is the anger in his heart, because when he is angry, it not only makes people painful, but also promotes a kind of power, making the angry people feel more and more painful.

Four people started to debate under the shade of the tree, but until it was dark, no one could convince anyone, and finally they parted in a bad mood.

But their arguments were heard by Shakyamuni for some reason. The four of them called them to teach them:

A long time ago, there was a monk named Divine Power. He already had five supernatural powers: divine feet, divine eyes, divine ears, his mind, and fate, and often practiced under a big tree.

Accompanied by him are four animals: pigeons, birds, poisonous snakes, and sika deer . After a long time, I became familiar with the four animals, and everyone would often exchange their experiences.

One night, the four animals were discussing what they saw and heard in the day, but I don’t know why they said the most painful thing.

The bird insists that the most painful thing is hunger and thirst. Pigeons believe that lust is more painful than hunger and thirst. Hunger and thirst are just weak and unconscious, while lust can make people use any means and do many incredible things.

The poisonous snake denies the arguments of birds and pigeons. It believes that anger is the most painful, because once you get angry, you will lose your mind, and your good friends will turn against each other, which will easily hurt the originally innocent people and bring disaster to yourself.

Sika deer spoke last, but it had the largest body and rejected the three friends' statements in one breath, insisting that fear is the most painful thing. I also took my own personal experience as an example, saying that when I was looking for food in the forest, since I was wary of lurking hunters, I also had to worry about the ferocious tigers and leopards. As long as there is any movement, I have to escape at the maximum speed. Such a worried life really makes me suffer.

But the sika deer's point of view obviously could not convince which friend it was, so the four of them started arguing, awakening the diligence that had already entered into meditation.

Jingjinli coughed lightly, causing the four animal friends to suspend the dispute and say that they have heard your opinions, but in my opinion, although your answers have their own reasons, they are all one-sided and superficial, so they can also be said to be wrong.

If we want to know what is the most painful, we must first figure out why there is pain? The reason is to make a difference. As long as you have the heart to act, pain will naturally accompany you. Therefore, making a difference is the most painful.

diligence also uses one's own personal taste as an argument, saying that one has abandoned life in the world, eliminated all distractions, cut off improper thoughts, no longer greedy for the happiness of physical existence, but seeks to obtain Nirvana, the purpose is to cut off the root of pain.

Since people after Nirvana no longer have their body, how can they suffer?

After speaking, he stopped talking with diligence and closed his eyes to continue his practice. After hearing his opinion, the four animals had no way to argue for a while. They continued to think for a while, and finally realized before dawn.

Speaking of this, Sakyamuni continued to say to the four monks in front of you: The predecessors of the four of you are the birds, pigeons, poisonous snakes and sika deer from that year. They have understood the root of pain in their previous lives, so why are you now arguing about this issue?

The point you just said is actually because you have not grasped the essence of pain, because why is there pain in the world? Because there is a body, whether it is fear or anger, hunger or lust, leaving the body, are these problems still problems?

The story tells people that whether it is pain or happiness, it is essentially based on "people". Without the root of the body, pain doesn't matter pain.

Therefore, the most painful thing in the world should be that you cannot let go of your body and stick to your own gains and losses. This is the most painful thing.

If a person can be selfless, that is the real fearlessness.
