After Wen Yan was "outstanding Mahayana and Hinayana" in Zhejiang, he still felt that "his own affairs were not clear", so he decided to study. Wen Yan first visited Chen Zunsu (Daozhi) in Muzhou. Daozong was a disciple of Huangbo Xiyun, a member of Nanyue. He first lived in Guanyin Academy. There were more than a hundred scholars under his sect. "After asking questions, the words were steep", "As a result, all the people admired each other and respected their ancestors." When Wen Yan visited, Daozong had already returned to Kaiyuan Temple, "he lived in a house to weave puppet shoes to foster their mother, so he had the name of Chen puppet shoes." He originally lived in Mishan Temple in Gao'an, Hongzhou. Later, because his mother was waiting for her to raise her, he returned to Muzhou. Chen Zunsu made a living by weaving straw sandals every day, so the jungle is called "Chen Pushao" or directly "Muzhou". Chen Zunsu has always been known for his steep maneuvers. Usually, I often stay in my door and do not easily attract ginseng. Zen Master Wen Yan admired Chen Zunsu very much, so he went to attend the ceremony.

　One day, Zen Master Wenyan came to Muzhou, but when the monk Muzhou saw him, he deliberately pretended not to see him and immediately closed the door.

　It was the third day that the monk from Muzhou opened the door. As soon as the monk Muzhou opened the door, Zen Master Wen Yan squeezed his neck into it. The monk Muzhou then captured him and said, "Tao! Tao!"

Zen Master Wenyan was about to answer, but the monk Muzhou pushed him out of the door and said, "Qin Shi (duo) was a big cone that used a car to pull and drill things, and usually discarded it after use. Wen Yan's enlightenment was at Xuefeng, and Wen Yan often said in his teachings after living in the mountain: "There is Xuefeng in the south, and the Zhaozhou in the north." It can be seen that he only agreed with the two great masters of Zhu Yan in the jungle at that time.After Wen Yan realized the truth from Xuefeng, he had been close to Xuefeng for a year. In the second volume of "Guanglu", it is also recorded that a monk under Xuefeng sect asked " Gantongqi " and asked, "What is it that 'what can't tell the way when you can't see the way, how can you know the way'?" Xuefeng said, "Great heaven! Heaven!" The monk who studied was unclear, but asked Wen Yan. Wen Yan said, "Three pounds of hemp and one piece of cloth." The monk said, "No." Wen Yan said, "I also serve three feet of bamboo." Wen Yan also stood out because of this Zen opportunity, which was quite important to Xuefeng's knowledge.

One day, Zen Master Wenyan came to Xuefeng Village and had not yet gone up the mountain to worship Zen Master Xuefeng. At this time, Zen Master Wen Yan saw a monk passing by, and asked, "Where is the one who will go up the mountain today?"

　The monk said, "Yes."

　The monk said, "Send a cause and condition to ask the monk in the hall (i.e., the abbot), but it is not the word of others."

　The monk said, "I can (can)."

　The monk said, "I can go up to the mountain to see the monk in the hall. When the crowd gathered, they stood up and said, "Why don't you take off the iron shackle on the neck of this old man?"

　　Zen Master Xuefeng was surprised to see the monk talking like this, so he got out of his seat, grabbed the monk with his chest, and said, "Speed ​​way! Quick way!"

　The monk was speechless when asked.

　　The Zen Master Xuefeng then pushed the monk away and said, "It's not your words."

　The monk also argued, "It's a certain word."

　　The Zen Master Xuefeng said, "The waiter brings the rope."

　　The monk was punished when he saw that he was going to be punished, so he had to admit, "It's not a certain word, it's a seat in the middle of Zhejiang in the village, and teaches a certain word."

　　The Zen Master Xuefeng was very happy when he heard this, and said to the public, "The public goes to the village to welcome five hundred good teachers!"

　The next day, Zen Master Wenyan went up the mountain to worship Monk Xuefeng.

　As he heard this, Zen Master Wen Yan lowered his head.

From then on, Xuefeng and Zen Master Wen Yan were in harmony with each other. After several years of training, Zen Master Xuefeng finally passed on the secret seal of the sect to Zen Master Wen Yan.

After Zen Master Wen Yan received the Dharma, he soon left Xuefeng and worshiped the ceremony in all directions. His decisive decisiveness was almost gone, and the jungle was heard all at once. Later, he arrived at the Lingshu in Qujiang, Shaozhou. Before this, Zen Master Zhisheng (Rumin) lived in the Lingshu for twenty years and did not invite the first monk to be established. The public was surprised and often advised him to welcome the first monk. Zen Master Zhisheng said, "I am the first person to be born." A few years later, Zen Master Zhisheng said, "I am the first cattle shed." A few years later, Zen Master Zhisheng said, "I am the first person to walk." A few years later, suddenly one day, Zen Master Zhisheng ordered the bell to gather the crowd and go outside the three gates to welcome the first monk. As soon as the crowd left the mountain gate, Zen Master Wenyan happened to arrive. So Zen Master Wen Yan settled in the spiritual tree and served as the first monk. The public was surprised.
