People who often go to temples to burn incense must know these ten common sense, otherwise you may be superstitious. Why do we believe it? Why do we worship? Why do we need to practice? We should all know the reasons for this.
1. What does "完" mean? Many people like to go to temples to worship statues, but few people know the reason. "Worship" is not to make you just bend over and kowtow, but to let us let go of our arrogance and ignorance.
2. What is the "read"? Is it just to read more numbers than who reads? Whoever gets the blessing will be greater? Obviously this is not the case. The purpose of the word "reciting" is to clear away the troubles and distracting thoughts in your heart, and to purify your own heart, so we must recite the four-character mantra.

3. Why is the purpose of "setting your palms"? We often see others holding hands in temples, but we don’t know why they hold hands together, and some people themselves don’t know why they hold hands together.
The purpose of putting your hands together is not to show off with your hands, not to take a formality, but to learn to respect others, respect sages, and respect all things. The purpose of putting your hands together is to show respect.
4. What is the purpose of "supply"? Why take some fruits or items to offer? Is it to bribe the gods? Obviously not. We go to offer sacrifices to reduce our greed.

5. What is "trust"? Is it to get protection? Or to learn more? None of these are. "Faith" is not blindly believing, but is to implement it in action. True faith is to correct one's wrong thoughts and behaviors in life, in accordance with the teachings of Sakyamuni.
6. What is "learning" learning? Learn how to burn incense and kowtow? Obviously, it is not about learning this. What we really need to learn is to learn from Sakyamuni and learn his wisdom and compassion.
7. Why do you need to "bear humiliation"? Many people think that forbearance means swallowing anger. In fact, this is not the case. Forbearance is a kind of practice. By practicing forbearance, one can increase one's wisdom.

Forbearance means using wisdom to resolve all problems and contradictions, and avoiding evil karma to resolve disputes between oneself and others. This kind of behavior is the great wisdom to benefit others and oneself, not cowardly and incompetent, just like the humiliation under the crotch of Han Xin back then. If Han Xin had not known how to endure temporary humiliation, how could he achieve great cause for thousands of years?
8. What is "sitting"? Why do you often see some monks sitting there motionless? In fact, "sitting" there is not moving, but because our body does not move, but because our mind does not move recklessly. Sitting is to cultivate the mind. Only by making the mind free of worries can we stay away from inverted dreams.

9. What is practice? Is it necessary to go to the deep mountains and forests to retreat? Is it necessary to sit still? Or do you have to carry water and chop firewood? These are not true practices. In the true sense, practice is to correct one's wrong behaviors, practice in life, live in practice, and do the present thing well, which is the best practice.
10. We often hear people say the word "rejoice". What does "rejoice" mean? Is “rejoicing” just to be happy for the happiness of others? This is just a manifestation of happiness, not a true "rejoice". Rejoice is actually a state of mind, an inner state, and to make one's heart truly relax. That kind of joy from the heart is the real rejoice. Rejoice is a state of mind without knowing an expression.
