The non-self advocated by Buddhism is to not have another self with a false mind, but to seek the true self. Sakyamuni Buddha saw the stars at night and realized the enlightenment and became a Buddha after he was enlightened. The first sentence he said after enlightenment was: "How strange, amazing, all sentient beings have the wisdom and virtues of Tathagata. But by delusion and attachment, one cannot attain it."
" Tathagata wisdom and virtues" is the true self, and "delusion and attachment" is the false self, which arises from another delusion mind. The true self is blocked by this false self, so it cannot be obtained. Therefore, Buddhism says that emptiness is emptiness. emptiness is delusional attachment, and emptiness is false self. Only in this way can one return to the true self , which is what Buddhism calls returning to the "Tathagatagarbha".
"Tathagatagarbha" is the true nature of . Everyone has it, and its nature is like Vajra . Vajra can destroy all things without being destroyed by all things. Therefore, the Heart Sutra says that the true nature is " is neither born nor destroyed, neither dirty nor clean.
Buddha said, "All sentient beings have Buddha nature", and this is the source, because everyone has this as the nature, and the true self is in everyone's heart.
There are "true self" and "fake self" in each of us. The true self of a human being has truth, goodness and beauty, which is the "great compassion" of Buddhism.
and the 'false self' is because there is a 'self-attachment', and then there is a "attachment mind", and then there is an opposing mind. Once there is an opposing and discriminating mind, it will change as soon as it changes from a different angle and becomes "impermanence". These are just 'images'. Therefore, the Diamond Sutra says: "H All appearances are false. Seeing what is not the form, you will see the Tathagata ."
The Sixth Patriarch Huineng is the enlightened Buddha of Zen Buddhism. He said: " The wisdom of Bodhi Prajna is the that the world has, but it is because the mind is confused, and it cannot be enlightened."
"The wisdom of Bodhi Prajna" means the best wisdom, that is, the wisdom after enlightenment. This wisdom is originally found by people in time, but because the mind is confused, they cannot realize the truth. The mind is confused and the “false self” and the “self of the false mind”.
It can be seen that all of them are saying "all sentient beings have Buddha nature" and "everyone can become a Buddha." Wang Yangming When he realized the truth in Longchang, he said: "The way of a saint is self-sufficient", which means: Everyone can be a saint, and everyone has a saint in their hearts, so in " Zhilu " says, " is full of saints all over the streets" .
So the Sixth Patriarch Huineng said again: " All wisdom of Prajna is born from the self-nature ."
Shakyamuni, when he came to the human world, he pointed to the sky with one hand and the other with the earth with the first sentence: " Heaven is in the world, but I am the only one respecting ." This shows that everyone has a true self , but this self is not a false self with another false thought.
's "I's the only one' does not refer to Sakyamuni himself, but to the innocent Buddha nature that all sentient beings have, "not born and not destroyed, neither dirty nor clean, neither increase nor decrease" .
The Buddha has been in the world for decades. When he was about to pass away, he asked him what he had attained. He said, "I have found , that innocent self ."
文 in the four lessons of 文 文 said: "The reason why ordinary people cannot be saints is just for the inclusion of false thoughts." This means that the reason why we ordinary people cannot become saints is because our delusions are entangled in .
"Bodhisattva Precepts Sutra" says: " My original self is pure. If you know the nature of your mind and see the nature, you will all become Buddhas. " means that We have a true self with pure self. As long as we understand the nature of our mind and see the nature, we can become Buddhas .
The Sutra of Pure Name says: " is instantly enlightened, and you still have to be the original heart " . In other words, as long as is removed from delusions and attachments, you can return to your true self even if " is instantly enlightened ", and then you can return to your true self.
Taoists often say "harmony between man and nature" , not to let us first see what the way of heaven looks like, and then conform to it. This means seeking outward and seeking outward, which cannot be obtained, and even the principles obtained are fragmented. As long as you seek inward and eliminate delusions and attachments, you will naturally see the way of heaven .
Therefore, "harmony between man and nature" tells us that "Heaven" is originally an with "man", because "everyone has Buddha nature, and everyone has the heart of Tao." Many times the reason why I feel that there is no "harmony between man and nature" is that is unable to unify with nature because of the separation of the true self by one's own desires.
But everyone has a saint in their hearts, and everyone has Buddha nature in their hearts. Therefore, we ordinary people can occasionally do the things of saints, and occasionally achieve the unity of man and nature, but cannot do it at all times. We always feel that we have a distinction between you and me from all things, because there is a self-centered desire, while the saint is selfless, so the saint is one of all things.
Although some people are not saints, they can often achieve the unity of man and nature, because this type of people is better born with a root, and they have few selfish desires in their hearts, so some people say that this type of people is destined to be successful and have the gene of success.
Summary:
Eastern philosophy is "harmony between man and nature, unity of mind and matter". In the end, there is no subject and object. I am everything, everything is me, but this is the state of enlightenment, which ordinary people cannot feel. Therefore, if there is an opposing difference between the subject and the guest, and the difference between the person and the person, it is impossible to achieve the "harmony between man and nature".
Therefore, the Buddhist mind can only be enlightened until the end of ", both the energy and the object, and the object, and the enlightenment are achieved. ‘Can’ is the subject, the ‘self-attachment’, the ‘thing’ is the object, the ‘self-attachment’, that is, the difference between people and self that is opposed and distinguished, and then one can be integrated with all things.
‘can’ is what I can observe, ‘what’ is the object I observe, that is ‘self-attachment’ and ‘self-attachment’ , but they both have an attachment mind and a false self. When the attachment mind is eliminated, it means that the "both subject and object are destroyed", it means that the false self is disillusioned, and reaches the state of selflessness, and naturally see the true self, so it is said that "no self is the true self."
Everyone is born with a saint in their hearts. As long as they remove the false self of delusion, they can realize the true self. and this true self is the ‘I’ of “the heaven and the world, I am the only one”.
