A young monk was very confused about the things of happiness, so he asked the Zen master with this question.
Zen Master did not explain it very clearly, but told him a story:
Zhuang Zhou has been living in pain and has no confidant. He must force himself to get rid of distracting thoughts in order to live alone.
One day at dusk, he really wanted to relax, so he went to the suburbs. There is a vast grassland, and the green grass exudes fragrance. He lay down on the sky, enjoying himself to the fullest, and fell asleep unknowingly. In his dream, he became a colorful butterfly, flying among the flowers and plants. There are blue sky and white clouds above and golden earth below. The surrounding scenery is also very charming, everything is so happy and warm. He completely forgot about himself and was intoxicated by the wonderful dreams.
Finally, when the dream is awake, he cannot distinguish between dreams and reality. After a long time, he was awake and sighed: "Zhuang Zhou is still Zhuang Zhou, butterfly is still a butterfly." In fact, the butterfly dancing with gorgeous wings is himself, and now Zhuang Zhou has not changed much, but his mentality has changed a lot. It is precisely because of this that he finally experienced true happiness in enjoying a moment of dreams.
There is happiness everywhere in life, the key is whether we can look at things with a happy heart. If a small butterfly can fly into his heart like Zhuang Zhou, he can feel happy even if he flies into his heart, then he can appreciate happiness and happiness from everything in the world.
