Xuyun old monk 1840-1959
I believe people have seen many Bodhisattva shapes, almost all of them have the same expression: the eyelids are drooping, and the eyes are slightly squinted. Is there any mystery? Does it have anything to do with meditating?
Let me speak slowly.
There are all sorts of weird standing meditating on the Internet today, as if standing meditating can cure all diseases? Are there any benefits to sitting and meditating? However, many people do not understand the comprehensive knowledge of standing meditation at all, and do not understand its advantages and disadvantages. What's more, they confuse meditation and sleep with imagining. They make up many successful experiences of standing meditation without thinking. The result will only be Misleading others, ultimately harming others and self.
is the original and clear source. I wrote this article without hesitation, hoping to help people have a clear and correct understanding of standing meditation.
In ancient my country, there is a well-known article "The Method of Eating Light and Longevity". It opens with two sentences: eating grains to nourish life, looking for light to live forever... When it comes to standing, meditating, and practicing kung fu and boxing, there must be light. There are four types of light sources: day, moon, star, and candle (oil). The basic rule of eclipse is to droop your eyes, squint your eyes slightly, and draw light into your body.
Therefore, the post should face east, and when the sky is half light and half dark, your eyes droop, squint your eyes slightly, and wait for the red sun to rise. When the sun appeared, the chest cavity seemed to be illuminated, and the bright spots spread from the lower pubic area to Yintang , faint and soft, if it is bright and dark, if it is imaginary, if it is true, if it is true. At this time, there was no sound, and I had forgotten everything, and I entered the state of fetal breath, standing for a few hours without noticing it.
Therefore, it is absolutely impossible to stand without light.
However, the red sun does not rise every day throughout the year, and there are also many cloudy, dark days, and even stormy mornings, so this time is not suitable for outdoor stations. You can choose to sit cross-legged indoors. Meditation should be carried out in the quiet empty house of the wide factory,There are doors or windows facing east or south. If the sky has the brightness of candlelight, there is no need to light the lamp; if the sky is too dark, a candlelight must be lit on the ground one foot away from the front of the sitting. This light should not be placed high. Do not exceed the head.
Maybe people wonder, why candlelight? Can't electric lights work? Yes, electric lights are not good, this is my personal experience. I believe the eminent monks and great virtues can explain the mystery.
The successful meditation is all night long, all day and night, which is called into . But it will be interrupted suddenly when the wax torch burns out and the candlelight goes out, making the practice abandon halfway through. Therefore, the eminent monk must stay in a quiet room or cave when he enters Dhamma, and he must arrange his disciples to guard against interference and the lights are off; the light source is candles or rapeseed oil.
Actually, although the postures of standing stance and meditation are different, the method is the same, and the purpose is the same, that is, to activate the original energy of the human body, the so-called "true energy", which can be vaguely felt by successful people. The form of expression of the true qi is the faintly, if true and magical, indescribable "light."
And this light can only be obtained through the correct standing and meditation. Once successful, I will feel the awe-inspiring spirit to prop up the head and straighten the spine. At the same time, it is clear that the spirit is a hundredfold, the strength is extraordinary, and the intelligence is superb. Therefore, throughout the ages, people have been diligently striving for this dispersal, making unremitting efforts and no regrets. Therefore, the ancient famous scholars, heroes and golden steel, all cultivated their body and strengthened their physique. Putting it into action means standing and meditating.
The allusion of Cheng Men Lixue is familiar to readers. According to "Song History-Yang Shi Biography", scholar Yang Shi visited the university in the dynasty to ask his family Cheng Yi. The other party was meditating, Yang was inconvenient to interfere, and he waited under the eaves gate. At that time, the snow was flying, and Yang was received an hour later. , And the snow on the ground has reached a foot thick.

So now many people follow the trend, bid farewell to the world, and live in isolation. They call themselves a hermit, secretly want to find immortals and visit Tao, but in fact they are pursuing that spectroscopy. But the result may not be what I wanted, more disappointed,Return without success. Because the fate can be met but not sought. Just like the Taishan Beidou of contemporary martial arts world Wan Laisheng said: teacher's biography, environment and understanding are indispensable.
Mr. Wan Laisheng hosted the Central Guoshu Museum at that time. There were thousands of students, but Mr. Wan Laisheng said: Those who care for the Tao are like horns, and those who gain the Tao are like horns.
And the ratio of cow hair to cow horns? What a vivid image.
So my insight: Why does the Bodhisattva not open his eyes, but always show others by standing and meditating? Without him, gather the essence of the sun and the moon, and absorb the aura of heaven and earth!
