2. The New Axial Era is an era in which Buddha-nature manifests

In Eastern culture, the innate attributes of human beings are called "mind", "self-nature" or "nature", and "nature" consists of three types of attributes or three It is composed of large-scale attributes, namely "beast nature", "human nature" and "Buddha nature".

The so-called animal nature is biological, which means that although human beings have surpassed animals in the general sense and become a group with introspection consciousness, they still retain a large number of animal characteristics. The historical period before the Axial Age is called "prehistoric period", "primitive society period" or "primitive civilization period". What was displayed and manifested in the primitive civilization period was the animal nature (biological nature) in human nature, that is, the animal nature (biological nature) occupied a dominant position in this historical period.

The so-called human nature is the abbreviation of human social attributes and cultural attributes. It is the innate foundation for the harmonious existence and sustainable development of human ethnic groups and cultures. The process of human history development is the process of continuously manifesting and strengthening human nature. After human beings entered the Axial Age from the primitive civilization period, human nature successfully defeated and surpassed the animal nature (biological nature) in human nature, and human nature became the protagonist and leader of display and manifestation, and became the conscious pursuit and resolute defense of individuals and all mankind thereafter. object. This is why the Axial Age is so important, and perhaps why Jaspers identified the Axial Age as the beginning of human civilization.

The so-called Buddha-nature is the abbreviation for the transcendence that everyone is born with. This transcendence is the comprehensive sublimation and transcendence of various limitations of one's own body and mind, the full sublimation and transcendence of animal and human nature, the full sublimation and transcendence of the phenomenal world, and the full sublimation and transcendence of self and attachment. Transcendence is the complete manifestation and awakening of the world of consciousness or the world of life. The New Axial Age is the negation and transcendence of the Axial Age. From then on, human beings will enter a period in which Buddha-nature dominates. In the New Axial Era, animal nature (biological nature) and human nature occasionally become the dominant protagonists, but Buddha nature will inevitably overcome and surpass animal nature (biological nature) and human nature, and will control, limit, guide, contain, and enhance , transform, and blend animal and human nature.

Ghosts and gods and the religious systems and belief systems built around them are the core components of early human civilization (primitive civilization and axis civilization).
