Hello everyone, I am Qingchen.
I wonder if my sisters have heard this sentence after the child is born, "Don't buy too many toys for the child, so that the child will have poor concentration in the future and will not be able to concentrate easily"?
I used to have a baby girl who was also afraid to buy toys for her children by this sentence.
But now I want to ask the person who said this, have you thrown away all your furniture in ? Have you specially prepared a blank room for your child to play with a toy? Because for children, everything is toy, and the furniture and appliances at home are toys that he can play with.
I have raised two children and opened a toy store. I found that the children’s fantasy about toys is just like we always have one piece of clothing in our wardrobe. No child will feel that he has many toys, like my son Zaizai. He likes cars and already has many cars at home, but he will still say: I don’t have a blue remote control sports car, etc. No child will dislike his toys.
What is concentration
Only play with one toy store subtext is: Play A toy for 1 minute and then play B toys means that the concentration is poor . In fact, many people don’t know how to concentrate.
Focus refers to a child's ability to concentrate vision, hearing, and touch organs on a certain thing and achieve the purpose of knowing that thing.
Generally speaking, concentration can be divided into five types
- Concentrated concentration: , such as photography, concentrate for a short time.
- Selective focus : refers to whether children can focus on an activity at the moment without being affected by the outside world. For example, children choose to concentrate on playing with the train among a bunch of toys.
- Continuous concentration : Each thing needs to be completed differently, and the degree of persistence of children's concentration in it is the same. For example, the time for styling 6-piece puzzles and 36-piece puzzles is different, that is, the time required for each thing in is different .
- Converted concentration: refers to whether a child can successfully transfer from one activity to another and maintain the concentration performance. For example, after completing the Chinese homework, you will quickly devote yourself to doing math homework.
- Dispersible concentration: refers to whether the child can perform two or more activities in at the same time. For example, listen to the teacher’s lecture while taking notes during class.
So, children's play A for a while and then play B is a conversion focus .
The focus usually thinks that A is playing A for a long time, that is, the child's continuous focus is long. In fact, research shows that concentration gradually develops with the growth of children's age and the development and maturation of the brain's prefrontal lobe.
Children's concentration will be affected by many factors, such as the child's age, interests, emotions, self-control, family environment, quality of life, etc.
Kindergarten children have a concentration of about 5 to 10 minutes, 20 minutes for children aged 5 to 10, 25 minutes for children aged 10 to 12, and 30 minutes for children aged 12 or above.
So is the same toy, and every child can play with it differently. You cannot simply judge a child's concentration based on the length of time you play with a toy.
Three conditions for concentration formed by concentration
Children with good concentration are easy to succeed in doing things, and their academic performance is also easy to improve. It is the expectation of every parent to want their children to be very focused. If you want your child to have good concentration, you must first know what circumstances can you cultivate your child's concentration.
1. Clear goal:
Only heart-based and proactive behavior can children focus more on doing things . Assuming that the child does not like A toys at all, it is impossible for the child to spend too much time on A toys. If a child likes trains, he can only play trains that he has been playing for a long time. Simply put, interest is the first priority.
2. Timely feedback:
The process of error correction is the process of forming deep concentration .Some people have the goal of playing the train well, and can accept the suggestions put forward by others during the play, and can optimize, cooperate and achieve the highest excitement point of playing based on the suggestions of others. The entire hand, eyes, mouth and brain are playing with the train.
3. Difficulty in compliance with the ability:
Understand the child's concentration type and what typical performances he has, so that he can adopt effective training methods according to the child's specific situation. For example, it is very difficult to splice 1-year-old children, and their abilities and intelligence are not up to date. Therefore, parents should understand their children, and follow the concentration that their children have formed, and continue to extend the time or increase the difficulty according to their children's development.
Recommended several mini games suitable for children under 3 years old
3 children mostly don’t recognize words. Although my son can draw, it can’t take too long. Therefore, we can only consolidate and practice children's concentration through small games in life.
1, does not destroy the child's concentration
Before the age of 3, parents were the "toys" that destroyed the child's concentration.
For example, when a child is playing with toys, adults always run over and ask: Do you want to drink water and pee? Come on, I will teach you how to play like this... The child is playing attentively, but you have to disturb the child. So when the child does not need help from others, we should not disturb him as long as possible, just protect him from safety. When he needs help, just follow his playing ideas and play together.
This is easy to say but difficult to do. Many adults think that children’s playing methods are childish and unoptimized, and they always want to impose their ideas on them.
2. Conscious but without test papers practice concentration
concentration can be learned through acquired. But methods and skills are required. For children under the age of 3 who don’t know how to read, games are an effective way and require parents’ guidance.
- Touch toys of various materials
can also close your eyes. Prepare items of different materials, soft, hard, cool, hot, square and round items that do not cause damage. Sometimes I would put Zaizai's toy car into the box, ask him to close his eyes and touch it, and then tell him what kind of car it was.
- Transfer microphone game
quietly said something in the child's ear, and asked the child to pass it to his father again. The father deliberately said it wrong to see if the child remembers it clearly and expresses it accurately.
- Follow-up practice
This game is something we often play at present, so I bought a complete set of Chinese studies to go home. Sometimes it’s me, sometimes it’s my father, and adults say something, and children follow it. These sentences that have never appeared before can better detect whether the child is listening attentively. At the same time, you can give children the inspiration for Chinese studies and practice oral skills.
- Find items
Say something in the picture book, such as glasses, headphones, etc., and let the child find it out. This way, you can check your child's cognitive ability and the seriousness of reading picture books.
- Follow the instructions
Give instructions to the child, let the child move with his eyes closed. For example: walk three steps forward, hold the box on the table with your left hand, etc.
Children's concentration is linked to listening, speaking, and action. Some children seem to play with toys, but their thoughts have flown to hundreds of thousands of miles. So you can't make a conclusion about your child's concentration based on just one toy.
However, parents should not be overly anxious before the age of 3. If does not have test scores, they can play with their children to their heart's content. Only then can they have a sense of security and exercise their children's concentration in a subtle way, and do a good job of playing and learning, and grow up while playing.
