In Shenzhen, when a child has a high fever, should he go to Children's Hospital or Maternity and Children's Hospital? I went to both hospitals in one day and would like to share my experience.

I originally wanted to call the emergency room for my baby, but I saw on the self-service machine that there was no emergency room in the morning, so I chose the general fever clinic and saw that there were several doctors who could register. I clicked on the front one and found that there were only afternoon calls, so I quickly returned Check the registration page and decisively choose the doctor with the most numbers. Sure enough, there are two numbers left between 8:00 and 8:30, and the other numbers are in the afternoon. I had already arrived at the hospital, so I naturally chose the 8 o'clock number.
After taking the registration slip, I went to the fever clinic and checked the health code and trip code again at the entrance. Fortunately, I got there early, and there were two people waiting in front of me. While waiting, I took the baby's temperature, which was 38.3, and also measured the weight.
The next step is to ask for a consultation, take a blood test, and wait for the results. When the results come out, you need to take a number again to see the results, and finally the doctor will prescribe medication for follow-up treatment. The whole process took two hours to complete. Maybe I arrived at the hospital early and the overall process went smoothly. During these two hours, the doctor took less than 5 minutes to see the doctor. The rest of the time was spent waiting in line. Excluding the registration and blood drawing fees, the doctor only prescribed one box of Chaixi granules, which cost more than 10 yuan.
2, Maternal and Child Health Hospital visit
The baby still had a high fever after returning home, reaching 40 degrees. Because he took antipyretics at the children's hospital at around 9 o'clock, the baby's mental state was not good, and he was lying limply. , and couldn't take antipyretics, I was so worried that I asked the father to take leave and look at another hospital together. This time I changed to a maternal and child health hospital.
As soon as he entered the hospital, he was told that he was a fever patient, and a nurse immediately led him to the fever clinic. Because the child had a high fever and I was anxious, my husband took the temperature while he held it. I was responsible for filling in the entry information on my mobile phone. It took me almost five minutes to fill in the information. The baby's temperature was also taken, and it was 40 degrees.
The nurse immediately took him to the fever clinic, operated the machine to get a number for nucleic acid testing, and went directly to the corresponding clinic to collect the nucleic acid after getting the number. Then the nurse wrote a case at the triage table and waited for us to come over. She asked about the time to take antipyretic medicine. Four hours later, she immediately gave the baby another antipyretic medicine.
The next step is to wait for the doctor to see him, and he will arrive in about 10 minutes. Since I just had my blood test in the morning, I took the results directly to the doctor. The doctor pointed out the abnormal results to us one by one, saying that it was not just a viral infection, but influenza , and we needed to prescribe some antibiotic-containing medicine. Got the fever down. Looking at the baby whose high fever persists, of course we choose to listen to the doctor.
Finally, we picked up medicine at the self-service pharmacy, and all that was left was to wait for the nucleic acid results to come out.
3. Personal experience
Each of the two hospitals has its own advantages, it depends on personal needs.

Children’s Hospital : You can leave the hospital without waiting for the nucleic acid results to come out.
Maternal and Child Health Hospital : You must wait for the nucleic acid test results to come out before you can leave. It is also stipulated that people accompanying you when entering the fever clinic must also wait for the results to come out and cannot leave midway. The staff will tell you that you have to wait for the results after entering, and the results will take 4 to 6 hours to come out. The results came out almost two hours after we went in.
2. In terms of medical services
Children's Hospital : Due to the large number of people, you need to queue up from registration to seeing the results. You may feel that it takes a minute to see a doctor and several hours to wait. It is estimated that there are many people seeing a doctor, and the doctors are anxious to call the next one. They feel how much the doctor must see in a day. As for the registration and payment service, you can operate it yourself. If you don’t understand, ask the volunteers.
Maternal and Child Health Hospital : There are few people in the fever clinic, and there are nurses to guide you all the way to the doctor. For operations on the machine, except for paying with a medical insurance card, the nurse will tell you what to do immediately. The doctor can also patiently analyze your child's condition for you and wait until you have asked all the questions and left before calling the next one. If you take your baby to the doctor alone, there will be a nurse to help you hold the baby if you don't have time. I was really surprised when I saw the nurse holding the baby.
3. Rest areas
Children's Hospital : The fever clinic is at the junction of two buildings. There are many stools outside, but there are too many people. It is basically full and there are many people standing.
Maternal and Child Health Hospital : The fever clinic is not large, but because there are fewer people seeking medical treatment, the rest area is a tent set up in the open space outside the clinic, with air-conditioning and TV, and there are enough places.
4. In terms of medication
Children's Hospital only prescribed a Chinese patent medicine. When my baby refused to take the medicine, I cried for a long time while giving the medicine with water, and in the end he vomited all the medicine. Although the medicine prescribed in maternal and child care is expensive, it only takes a little bit at a time, and it can help the baby to recover after drinking it. Later, the fever recurred overnight, and the next day the fever changed to and low-grade fever . The fever subsided at midnight the next day and stopped recurring.
