Today I want to talk to you about: How to persist in doing one thing well in for a long time.
I also mentioned in my previous article that I am a person who is popular for three minutes and it is difficult to stick to anything I do.
But after I adjusted some methods, the effect was relatively effective. After all, if you want to say goodbye to the popularity of doing things in one step, it is still unlikely that you can't stick to this situation.
So, share three small ways that I can implement smoothly and persevere:
1. Make a plan within your ability
There are two months left to be the new year.
If nothing unexpected happens, many people will start to formulate the so-called perfect New Year plan every new year.
For example, reading 52 books a year, losing 20 kilograms of weight, learning a new skill, insisting on writing a diary every day, doing reviews, etc.....
These plans seem perfect, and there is no such thing as anything, but if it really needs to be completed within one year, it is really difficult.
, especially most of us still have a lot of time to spend on work or children, and the time to fully invest is extremely limited.
The more perfect and beautiful the plan, the more difficult it is to execute. When you try your best to find that the plan is less than 1/10, you will feel frustrated and frustrated. Once this stage reaches, anyone's instinctive reaction is to give up.
So, I recently figured out a truth: Everything needs to be cultivated, including persistence. If we always give up halfway, we will give up habitually; if we can always finish things, we will also habitually stick to the end.
Therefore, in order to cultivate the habit of getting things done, we should set goals that we can accomplish. Keep the plan to the extent you can complete it. As long as you enjoy one or two successes, you will get used to the pleasure of completing your goals and keep making yourself persistent.
So how do we determine our goals feasible? It is to break down the big goals into small goals, look at the time you need to invest every day, and then look at how much free time you can disposable besides work, and you can immediately distinguish the rationality of your goals.
For example, if you want to read ten books a year, the average number is 1 to 2 books per month. A book ranges from 300 to 500 pages.
1 months have 30 days, and on average, you only need to read 10 to 20 pages a day. No matter how slow we read, a 20-page book can basically be read within thirty minutes.
In other words, you only need to spend thirty minutes a day to read, so you can read ten books after a year.
We don’t need to be obsessed with those goals that look very perfect, but we should rationalize the goals and smooth completion is the king.
2. Give yourself enough entertainment time
We are not saints. Every day, we are a life of study and study, which ordinary people cannot do at all. Watching dramas, watching variety shows, and browsing web pages are all normal physiological needs.
There is no need for us to suppress our inner desires in order to complete the so-called perfect plan.
After all, if you suppress it for a long time in the early stage, the more you will rebound in the later stage. It's like we want to lose weight. We worked hard for five days to eat salad, and we forgot about losing weight when we had dinner with friends on weekends.
After eating grass for five days, I lost one or two pounds. I made a hot pot meal on the weekend and returned all the meat I lost.
Sometimes I really think we are really cute. We need to get feedback on everything we do before we want to continue.
Just like when I wrote this article, the happiest thing is to see your messages and likes and forward them. Even if you think it’s useless and then scold me, I will be very happy.
Because I saw some feedback, I could know how to adjust in the future and write better text.
But if there are no good or bad things, I can only persist alone, and I think I will give up soon.
Therefore, don’t suppress your true desires in your heart, and don’t let yourself be stubborn every day. After all, we have been taught to combine work and rest since childhood. sets a phased goal for yourself, and reward yourself if you complete it.
This way you have the motivation to persevere.
3. Know how to make choices and learn to let go of
In this world, it is really difficult to have both fish and bear's paws.
When you are dissatisfied with the status quo and want to live the life you want, we must know: You must exchange everything you have for what you want.
If you want to lose weight, you must control yourself not to eat the food that makes you fat. Run and exercise every day. These are the conditions you need to exchange for a good figure;
If you want to read every day, you must spend some entertainment time reading every day. Don’t watch so many short videos and variety shows. These are the time costs you have to pay for if you want to increase your time.
If you don’t want to live a constant life, you are destined to be prepared for sacrifice and embark on a difficult and long road.
So, if you really plan to insist on doing one thing well, you have to learn to give up something and exchange it with your precious time.
Of course, if you really can't stick with it, you don't have to force yourself to stick with it. It's the most important thing to live a happy life.
Think about what you really want to pursue, and never say that you can make a lot of money like a grand goal.
We must remember: every big goal is composed of every small goal. If you want to make one million, make yourself earn 100,000 first. If you want to make one hundred thousand, make yourself earn 10,000 or 50,000 first.
In short, I have made every effort to prepare. If you are also prepared, let us work together.
encouraged together.
