I love National Day, I love my motherland
Peng Shujin
National Day, a grand national festival, almost everyone is looking forward to it, and I am no exception.
I remember one year on National Day, my grandmother would take me to Hekou Town to buy vegetables early. It took about a few hours to walk from home to town. When I was a child, I was very diligent and started to clean up with my grandmother at dawn. Because the journey is long and naughty, I always stop on the road. When I pass by the cornfield, I run in and out again, which wastes a lot of time, and my grandma always waits for me patiently. When I passed by a hillside, my grandma called me to stop. I asked curiously: "Grandma, why did you stop here?" Grandma touched my head and told me the story behind this hillside: During the Anti-Japanese War, the Eighth Route Army fought guerrillas here to block the Japanese devils, but the Japanese devils captured the villagers hiding in this village on this hillside and killed them here. After saying that, grandma lowered her head heavily, and I lowered her head too. We were all very sad.
Grandma, she not only knows how to sew needles and embroidery, but also remembers every meaningful thing that happens in the town. She often tells me with practical actions that remembering is respect for heroes. Grandma told me that we should learn from history. The reason why history has such a tragedy is because we were relatively backward at the time and warned me to study hard so that I would not be bullied at will.
When I came to the town that day, I saw the red Chinese alleys all over the streets, the streets and alleys were very lively, the children ran and jumped happily, and the adults were smiling. At night, the whole family had dinner together. My father organized the whole family to watch National Day programs in front of the TV. I remember that with the loud singing, I saw a group of soldiers holding their heads and walking forward; rows of advanced weapons appeared in front of me, and a sense of pride in my heart arose. Since then, I have determined to be a soldier when I grow up.
Time flies. After a few National Days in the blink of an eye, I found that my motherland is getting stronger and stronger. Because of the ample time during the National Day holiday, our family insists on going out to travel and experience the beautiful mountains and rivers of the motherland, which not only enhances cultural confidence, but also broadens my horizons. In order to make the trip more meaningful, my father would think about the cultural heritage of the travel destination on the eve of National Day and then choose a suitable place. What impressed me most was traveling to Xi'an and Shanghai. In Xi'an, I saw the hard city walls and exquisite houses, and I felt the glory of Chang'an City and the tranquility of the Big Wild Goose Pagoda. The most shocking thing is to go to Mausoleum of Qin Shihuang and see Terracotta Warriors and Horses . Such a majestic formation deeply penetrated my heart. At the gate of Qin Shihuang’s Mausoleum, my father stood behind me. I closed my eyes and felt the Chinese civilization and the cultural origins of the Chinese nation. I said in my heart that I will study hard and strive for the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation. In Shanghai, I stood on the bank of the Huangpu River, looking up at the Oriental Pearl, looking at the bustling traffic and the lights of thousands of homes, and I couldn't help but sigh for this. I became more determined to my yearning and love for the future.
The colorful National Day has had a profound impact on me. I often remember it, as if it is vivid in my mind. As a passionate man, born in a prosperous era, you should strictly demand yourself and set an example. Before we knew it, there were another powerful song outside the window. Looking out the window, the red sun was in the sky, and the five-star red flag was flying. I couldn't help but shout: I love my motherland!
