China's home prices in 70 large and medium-sized cities were generally stable in September, with top-tier cities seeing home prices basically unchanged, the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) said Thursday.
New home prices of China's four first-tier cities, namely Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Shenzhen, were flat month on month in September, reversing a month-on-month decline of 0.2 percent in August, NBS data showed.
Prices of new homes in Beijing and Shanghai rose by 0.4 percent and 0.5 percent, respectively. However, new home prices in Guangzhou and Shenzhen are less optimistic, falling 0.6 percent and 0.5 percent, respectively.
In the secondary market, prices in first-tier cities increased by about 0.2 percent to halt a four-month decline. Beijing and Shanghai also led the recovery with a 0.7 percent and 0.6 percent gain, respectively.
New home prices fell in 45 of the 70 major cities versus their levels a year earlier, up from 44 in August. Prices of existing homes decreased year-on-year in 67 cities, versus 66 in August, the report on Thursday showed.
September and October are traditionally peak months for new-home sales in China, with developers offering promotions and releasing new properties on to the market.
Analysts noted that although the market has not yet recovered as a whole, prices in some cities and regions have bottomed out and showing signs of rebound.
Market-friendly policies introduced in late August and early September were pivotal, as these policies have a significant role in driving up part of the new and secondary homes sales and supporting price stability, experts said.
據國家統計局網站消息，10月19日，國家統計局公布2023年9月份70個大中城市商品住宅銷售價格變動情況。一線城市新建商品住宅銷售價格環比持平、同比漲幅擴大，二手住宅環比轉漲、同比降幅收窄。
其中，北京和上海新建商品住宅銷售價格環比分別上漲0.4%和0.5%，廣州和深圳環比分別下降0.6%和0.5%。一線城市二手住宅銷售價格環比連續4個月下降後首次轉漲，漲幅為0.2%，其中北京和上海環比分別上漲0.7%和0.6%，廣州環比下降0.7%，深圳環比持平。
二、三線城市商品住宅銷售價格環比下降、同比有漲有降。二線城市新建商品住宅銷售價格環比下降0.3%，二手住宅環比下降0.5%。三線城市新建商品住宅銷售價格環比下降0.3%，二手住宅環比下降0.5%。
在70個大中城市中，新建商品住宅銷售價格同比下降城市有45個，比上月增加1個，二手住宅銷售價格同比下降城市有67個，比上月增加1個。
專家解讀稱，從統計局公布的9月房價數據來看，雖然全國層面的市場還未整體復甦，但部分城市和區域的市場已經有觸底反彈跡象。8月底9月初密集政策對市場復甦起到了一定作用，帶動部分市場一二手房銷量回升的同時，也同步對房價穩定起到了明顯支撐作用，預計後續隨著各地政策不斷深化，尤其是一、二線熱點城市限購政策進一步放開，市場將有望進入更為紮實的復甦階段。
目前政策的確加速了市場復甦的預期，但由於大環境不確定性依然存在，以及居民對於未來收入預期等因素存在，今年市場總體將維持「弱復甦」態勢，四季度預計還會有部分城市呈現觸底反彈，今年商品房銷售金額預計將和去年持平，房價總體還將在底部徘徊。

Hong Kong Chief Executive John Lee on Wednesday said the city will work to develop into an international hub for innovation and technology, in line with the needs of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI). Speaking after attending the Belt and Road Forum, Lee said Hong Kong has 「unlimited」 scope to contribute to technological development. 「We are conscious of developing Hong Kong as an international I&T centre,」 he noted. Meanwhile, Hong Kong Stock Exchange CEO Nicolas Aguzin said that the SAR can play an important role in facilitating the two-way flow of capital between China and countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative. Speaking at the Belt and Road forum on Wednesday, he said young people in ASEAN are making their mark on the global stage through innovation. He said Hong Kong can connect China's capital with them. Hong Kong is uniquely placed to connect these opportunities to both China』s onshore investor pool and the international investor pool. No other market in the world can offer this in the way Hong Kong can do it, he said.
香港在「一帶一路」科技發展的貢獻空間很大：18日，香港特區行政長官李家超在出席第三屆「一帶一路」國際合作高峰論壇開幕式後接受採訪時表示，香港要著力在科技方面發展，配合國家共建「一帶一路」。李家超說，共建「一帶一路」方面，香港在科技發展的貢獻空間很大，回港後會著力處理。香港要著力建成國際創科中心，在融入國家發展大局中，與不同地方配合。他指出，特別是在落實《河套深港科技創新合作區深圳園區發展規劃》方面，香港大有可為。另外，港交所行政總裁歐冠升表示，正開發一個全面金融網路，讓本地和國際投資者能夠對內地金融產品進行交易、報價、結算和風險管理，加強互聯互通；亦正發展一個可持續金融生態系統。他強調,交易所一直開發合適渠道、平台和產品，支援「一帶一路」國家與內地雙向流動，包括加強上市制度，支持新經濟、生物或特專科技等領域的集資活動。他表示，東南亞正快速發展基礎建設項目和工業化計劃，當地的年輕人口亦推動該區創新。他說，目前東南亞有逾50家獨角獸公司，亦有不少成長中的准獨角獸需要大量資金髮展業務，認為香港有獨特優勢，將境內外投資者聯繫，支持有關企業發展。
Trina Sola said it plans to build a production base covering all aspects of the solar industry chain in the United Arab Emirates to promote the Chinese solar equipment giant's business in the Middle East and add to the UAE green infrastructure and eco-friendly energy utilization. The factory will have an annual output of about 50,000 tons of high-purity silicon, 30 gigawatts of silicon wafers, and 5 GW of battery modules, Trina Solar announced late yesterday, citing an MOU it signed with Abu Dhabi Ports and Jiangsu Provincial Overseas Cooperation and Investment during the Belt and Road Forum.

Chinese carmaker Changan Automobile inked a deal with the Board of Investment of Thailand at the Belt and Road Forum to invest THB8.8 billion (1.77 billion yuan) to build a new energy vehicle factory in Thailand. The factory will produce pure electric vehicles and plug-in and extended-range hybrid vehicles to be sold in Thailand, ASEAN member countries, Australia, New Zealand, UK, and South Africa, the company announced yesterday.

China's grain output is likely to set a new record this year, thanks to a bumper autumn harvest, an official with the NBS said on Wednesday. The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs expected the acreage for autumn grain in 2023 to reach 1.31 billion mu, about 7 million mu more than last year.

Shares of Gome Retail Holdings jumped after the cash-strapped Chinese retailer rebutted a report that it has closed all of its stores in Guangdong province but noted that their number has dropped significantly. Gome had two self-operated stores and 107 franchised outlets in Guangdong as of the end of September, compared to 14 and 181, respectively, at the end of June, the firm said yesterday. The company will continue to adjust the numbers as it is optimizing its online and offline business integration strategy, it added.

China, the United States』 second-largest creditor, reduced its holdings of US Treasury Bonds for the fifth consecutive month to a new lowest since June 2009 in August, according to the latest official data. China pared its ownership of US Treasuries by USD16.4 billion to USD805.4 billion in August from the previous month, according to data released yesterday by the US Department of the Treasury.

Chinese yuan's international payment share hit a record high of 3.71 percent in September and retained its position as the fifth most active currency for global payments, data from the SWIFT system showed on Wednesday. Overall, the yuan's payments value increased by 2.77 percent compared with the previous month, while in general all payments currencies decreased by 3.96 percent, SWIFT data revealed.
人民幣全球支付佔比連刷記錄高位：19日，環球銀行金融電信協會最新發布的人民幣月度報告和數據統計顯示，2023年9月，在基於金額統計的全球支付貨幣排名中，人民幣保持全球第五大最活躍貨幣的位置，佔比3.71%。這一比例再度刷新紀錄。

Chinese stocks hit a new low for the year on Thursday, dragged by consumer-related shares. The benchmark Shanghai Composite and the Shenzhen Component each plunged 1.7 percent. Hong Kong』s Hang Seng index also dropped 2.5 percent and the TECH index fell 1.9 percent.
A股港股大幅收跌：周四A股三大指數持續下挫，截至收盤，滬指跌1.74%險守3000點，創2022年11月以來新低；深證成指跌1.65%，創2020年3月以來新低；創業板指跌1.28%。兩市超3900下跌，全天成交8127億元，北上資金凈賣出117.04億元。港股恆指跌2.46%，恒生科指跌1.9%。
