中央軍委舉行授予榮譽稱號儀式、晉陞上將軍銜警銜儀式

中央軍委授予榮譽稱號儀式31日在京隆重舉行。中央軍委主席習近平向1名獲得榮譽稱號的個人頒授獎章和證書，向3個獲得榮譽稱號的單位頒授獎旗。

The title "Heroic Demining Soldier" was awarded to Du Fuguo, who in an operation October last year lost his eyesight and both hands trying to protect his fellow soldiers from a landmine explosion.授予陸軍某掃雷排爆大隊戰士杜富國「排雷英雄戰士」榮譽稱號。2018年10月，杜富國在排雷時為保護戰友英勇負傷，雙目失明、失去雙手。

The three military units honored are an air force group, an astronautical ground station and a scientific research office.

授予榮譽稱號的三個單位分別是空軍某大隊、某航天地面設備站以及某科研室。

【單詞講解】

「給...記功」可以用award someone a merit citation或者honor someone with a merit citation，上面例句中的主語都是獲得這些榮譽的人，所以使用了被動語態。此外，我們原來說過「授旗」用confer a flag to表示，其實，這裡的「授予榮譽」也可以用confer a merit citation to someone表示。

Merit citation這個表達可以分開來看，merit指一個人或者集體的功績，而citation則是對於這一功績的官方認可（an official document or speech which praises a person for something brave or special that they have done）。
