on september 27th, the chinese embassy in fiji hosted a carnival at albert park in suva to mark the 76th anniversary of the founding of the people's republic of china (prc) and the 50th anniversary of china–fiji diplomatic relations. more than 400 guests, including fiji's acting prime minister, government officials, people from all walks of life, and chinese nationals living in fiji, attended the event, joined by over a thousand local residents.
at the invitation of the chinese embassy in fiji, 22 artists from guangdong traveled to fiji for a cultural exchange. the performance began with the national anthems of both china and fiji. fiji's acting prime minister prasad delivered a speech on behalf of the fiji government, warmly congratulating the 76th anniversary of the prc's founding and the 50 years of diplomatic relations between china and fiji. he stressed that fiji–china relations are based on the one-china principle, adding that fiji firmly adheres to the un resolutions on the one-china principle and recognizes the government of the prc as the only legitimate representative of china.
that evening, despite a sudden heavy rain in suva, performers from both china and fiji remained on stage. the guangdong artists brought an array of brilliant performances: the cantonese opera "mu gui ying zhao qin" received high praise from fiji leaders; the puppet show "mo yun nian hua" expressed the wisdom of "coexisting in harmony"; the martial arts performance "qian kun bo yi" won the first round of applause; magicians li chengzong and liu bei, along with acrobatic performers, presented high-level acts; and the dances showcased both lingnan traditions and the vibrancy of china's ethnic minority cultures. fiji's vou dance group responded with an ocean-themed piece, and children from both countries joined together to sing "as wished".
as the show concluded, 600 drones from guangzhou made their debut in a south pacific aerial light show. the drone formation transformed into various shapes, such as the national flags of china and fiji, a panda offering "kava" (fijian traditional drink), and rugby players making an "i love fiji" hand gesture. a local chinese resident remarked with emotion that in the wind and rain, the friendship between china and fiji was even more evident in its thriving state.
廣東藝術團赴斐濟獻禮新中國成立76周年暨中斐建交50周年
9月27日，中國駐斐濟大使館在蘇瓦阿爾伯特公園舉辦慶祝新中國成立76周年暨中斐建交50周年嘉年華，斐濟代總理等政要、各界人士及旅斐華人等400餘人出席，上千斐濟民眾參與。
應使館邀請，廣東22位藝術家赴斐交流。演出在中斐國歌聲中開啟，斐濟代總理普拉薩德代表斐濟政府致辭，向中華人民共和國成立76周年和中斐建交50周年致以熱烈祝賀。他指出，斐中關係以一個中國原則為基礎。斐濟堅定奉行聯合國關於一個中國原則的決議，堅持中華人民共和國政府是代表全中國的唯一合法政府。
當晚蘇瓦突降暴雨，中斐演員雨中堅守舞台。廣東藝術家帶來多場精彩表演：粵劇《穆桂英招親》獲斐方領導盛讚，木偶戲《墨韻年華》展現「和合共生」智慧，武術《乾坤博弈》率先引掌聲，魔術師黎承宗、劉蓓及雜技演員獻上高水準節目，舞蹈盡顯嶺南與中華少數民族文化風采；斐濟vou舞團以海洋舞蹈回應，兩國兒童共唱《如願》。
演出落幕，廣州600架無人機首秀南太平洋空中光影秀，編隊化作中斐國旗、熊貓獻「卡瓦酒」、橄欖球運動員比「我愛斐濟」手勢等造型。一位當地華人感慨，風雨中更見中斐友誼蓬勃生長。
