The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) lifted the order to stop commercial operations of the Boeing 737-8 and 737-9. This move will allow airlines under the jurisdiction of the FAA, including those in the United States, to take necessary measures to resume services and Boeing to begin delivering aircraft.
In the past 20 months, Boeing has worked closely with airlines to provide airlines with detailed advice on long-term storage and ensure that their investment is part of the safe resumption efforts. The airworthiness directive issued by the FAA stipulates the requirements that American airlines must meet before resuming service, including installing software upgrades, completing wiring harness separation and modification, conducting pilot training, and completely unsealing the aircraft to ensure that the aircraft is ready for use. In addition to the changes made to aircraft and pilot training, Boeing has also taken three important steps to strengthen its focus on safety and quality. More than 50,000 engineers were summoned into an organization, including the new product and service security department. Engineers are further authorized to improve safety and quality.
