Recently, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology reported on the construction of "Gigabit Cities" across the country in 2022. Guiyang Gui'an passed the "Gigabit City" summary evaluation and was successfully shortlisted for the national "Gigabit Cities".
"Gigabit City" is mainly evaluated comprehensively from the construction and development of "dual gigabit" networks such as 5G and gigabit optical networks. It is a landmark project of new digital infrastructure. Since the beginning of this year, Guiyang Big Data Bureau has focused on the goal of building a "Gigabit City" and has implemented in-depth "Dual Gigabit" network construction, making every effort to promote the simultaneous implementation and integrated advancement of Gigabit optical fiber networks and 5G networks.
Currently, Guiyang and Gui'an have met seven indicators including household gigabit fiber network coverage, 5G network accessibility in key places, the number of 5G base stations per 10,000 people, the proportion of users with 500Mbps and above, the proportion of 5G users, the proportion of 10G-PON and above ports, and "dual gigabit" application innovation. The overall indicator ranks in the middle and upper reaches of the 110 shortlisted cities.
Among them, in terms of "double gigabit" network construction, the coverage rate of gigabit optical fiber network in urban households exceeds 100%, achieving full coverage of gigabit optical network in urban households; the 5G network accessibility rate in key places reaches 100%, achieving full 5G coverage in important scenes such as important transportation hubs, key cultural tourism areas, tertiary hospitals, and key universities. In terms of "Double Gigabit" application innovation, 12 typical cases of "Double Gigabit" network service information consumption , social livelihood, industry integration innovation and other application scenarios have been hatched.
The Guiyang Smart Urban Management Platform, which was built with the participation of Guiyang Telecom, is one of the innovative application scenarios of “Dual Gigabit”. Guiyang Telecom built 400 high-definition cameras and a private cloud platform for intelligent video aggregation and video analysis for the Guiyang Comprehensive Law Enforcement Bureau. The cameras cover various key places in Guiyang City, achieving 24-hour high-definition video aggregation and management. By creating such a high-speed and stable network, it ensures that video, pictures and other information are transmitted back to the platform in real time, effectively assisting the Guiyang Comprehensive Law Enforcement Bureau in command and dispatch.
