Hello everyone, I am Lao Wang next door.

Preface

The Chinese New Year is coming soon, and everyone should be preparing to clean the whole house. Giving yourself and your parents a smart sweeping and mopping robot at the end of the year must be the best choice at the end of the year. 2022 is the year of the explosion of intelligent cleaning robots. Product updates and iterations of major manufacturers have accelerated, and prices have also reached new heights. Since then, cleaning base stations have become standard equipment for sweeping and mopping robots. Among so many brands, Ecovacs, , Stone, and Cloud Whale are widely concerned by friends. They are also the most active sweeping robot manufacturers on the market. Several brands have also launched their own flagship products this year, Covacs Voss T10 OMNI, Stone G10S, and Cloud Whale J3. Many friends are confused by the choice. So today, Lao Wang and I will pass the actual use evaluation of the three robots to give some real suggestions to friends who are still hesitating about which one to buy.

Branch Voss T10 OMNI

So this evaluation will be compared through these four dimensions.

Comparison of appearance and appearance

Kevos T10 OMNI

Ecovacs T10 OMNI has a pure white body. The appearance design is simple and direct, with a hint of toughness. I like the overall appearance very much. It is versatile and can match different home decoration styles. The overall size is 448mm in width, 430mm in depth, and 578mm in height. Because the water tank is relatively large, the overall size will be slightly higher, but the width and depth are suitable. It does not take up space in the laundry room or on the balcony.

Stone G10S

Stone G10S adopts the classic black and white color scheme, without a closed water tank or dust collection box design, and has a sense of modern technology. Maybe many friends grow grass and stones for this reason. The three dimensions are width 422mm, depth 492mm, and height 420mm. Since there is no outer water tank, the height is relatively low and it is very convenient to place it under the table.

Cloud Whale J3

The appearance design of Cloud Whale J3 is very streamlined, a little dynamic, and extremely rounded. The whole body is pure white and looks very clean. It goes well with light-colored or pure white decoration in the home. The size parameters are width 415mm, depth 370mm, height 435mm, which is relatively small and as cute as its name.

In terms of appearance, Ecovacs is tough and simple, with a full sense of stone technology, while Cloud Whale is cute and compact. Each has its own advantages and characteristics. Friends, don’t know which one you like better? In terms of size and volume, overall the Voss T10 OMNI is the largest, the Cloud Whale J3 is the smallest, and the Stone G10S is moderate, but they do not take up a lot of space. You can look at the size parameters of the three devices before purchasing, and arrange the placement of the devices at home before making a decision. However, as far as I am concerned, it is more important to see which one I like. As long as I buy it, I will always find a place to put it.

base station performance comparison

Nowadays, our demand for sweeping and mopping robot base stations is already very high. Not only do they need to be able to automatically clean, but they also want more levels of automation and intelligence. Therefore, for the comparison of the three devices, one of the core points is the comprehensiveness of the base station functions. Let’s first look at the function comparison table.

The two most important functions of the sweeping and mopping robot base station are mop backwashing and dust collection. The three robots all performed well in mop backwashing. Not only can the backwashing time be set in the APP and selected according to the cleanliness of the home floor, but the cleaning speed and effect are also very satisfactory.

The Ecovacs T10 OMNI and Roborock G10S base stations are equipped with extra large dust collection bags (Evovac 3L, Roborock 2.5L), which can remove dust manually for a long time without manual intervention. All is done automatically by the machine, and dust removal can be easily accomplished for 2 months without manual intervention. The Cloud Whale J3 is not equipped with an automatic dust collection function. It is only equipped with a 480ml dust collection box inside the robot body, which is barely enough if it is not used frequently.

In order to reduce users’ contact with stains, both Ecovacs T10 OMNI and Roborock G10S provide base station self-cleaning, which ensures the hygiene of the base station itself and avoids the breeding of bacteria and secondary pollution. Moreover, the base station self-cleaning of Roborock G10S is fully automatic and does not require manual intervention in the whole process. Cloud Whale J3 still needs to improve in this aspect. It is not that convenient to only manually remove and clean it.

After cleaning the mop, there is still some moisture. The base stations of the three devices, Ecovacs T10 OMNI and Cloud Whale J3, have integrated drying functions. The Roborock G10S needs to be configured separately, and the price is not high. You can add more as needed for use in humid cities.

Do we need the automatic water supply and drainage function? This depends on each person because there are two prerequisites. First, whether there is a water supply and drainage interface reserved at the location where the robot is placed. Second, whether there are too high steps or ground level differences in the house. If the above two problems can be solved, then the optional water supply and drainage accessories will give you an easier cleaning experience. You need to purchase accessories for each of the three devices, and make an appointment with an engineer to inspect and install them.

The clean water tank and wastewater tank of the three devices are slightly larger on the Cloud Whale J3. It may also be because there is no dust bag , and there is more space left for the water tank in the base station.

Overall, in terms of base stations, Ecovacs T10 OMNI and Roborock G10S have their own characteristics. The base stations have many and comprehensive functions, and can basically complete cleaning and body cleaning without excessive intervention from the owner. However, Cloud Whale J3 is relatively weak, and the missing functions are hoped to be completed in later iterations of the product.

Ecovacs T10 OMNI, the base station integrates powerful mop backwashing, comes with 2H hot air drying, automatic dust collection, base station self-cleaning and other core advantages, making the base station more intelligent, saving worry and effort, and is the most comprehensive all-round base station on the market.

Stone G10S, the base station has 5 core functions, automatic cleaning mop, automatic fast dust collection, automatic cleaning base station, automatic Ag ion sterilization, automatic robot water replenishment, convenient and efficient, without manual participation, completely freeing your hands, and cleaning the whole family while lying down.

Cloud Whale J3, although the functions are slightly lacking, the mop is clean, the clean water tank and the sewage tank have a large volume, and can last for a long time. Comparison of cleaning power of

robot. The cleaning ability of the robot depends not only on the hardware configuration but also on the intelligent algorithm. Let’s first compare the cleaning hardware of the three robots.

1. Hardware configuration comparison

Let’s first look at the suction power of the three robots, which also directly affects the ability to clean dry garbage. The suction power of both Ecovacs and Stone exceeds 5000Pa. Stone has the highest 5100Pa among the three, which can effectively clean dust and impurities on the floor and carpets. In daily use, both devices are very capable of thoroughly cleaning dry garbage on the ground. The Cloud Whale only has a suction power of 3000Pa, which is good for use on smooth floors. Once the dry garbage is slightly larger or hidden in the gaps in the carpet, it cannot be removed well.

main brush

side brush

main brush and side brush, although the materials and quantities are slightly different, there is no obvious difference in actual use. Whether it is the rubber-bristle integrated roller brush equipped by Ecovacs or Cloud Whale, or the stone full rubber roller brush, the cleaning effect is ideal. But in terms of cleaning difficulty, the rubber brush is easier to clean . The stone's single-sided brush seems to be missing one side of cleaning, but it is not easy to blow away garbage, and with the blessing of the algorithm, the cleaning effect is equally excellent.

In terms of mopping, the three mops are different. Roborock G10S is the only one among the three that uses a flat vibrating mop structure. The entire mop imitates manual dragging operation, and the cleaning area and effect are both superior. Ecovacs T10 OMNI and Cloud Whale J3 use a rotating mop structure. Although the mop shapes are different, they both imitate manual pressure to rotate and mop the floor, which is suitable for use on dirt floors that are difficult to clean.

2. Comparative test of sweeping performance

In daily dry garbage cleaning on the ground, in addition to common dust and hair, the more difficult to deal with is granular solid garbage, which is easily blown away by the side brush. We used mung beans for testing.

Ecovacs T10 OMNI

Stone G10 OMNI can identify particulate matter, intelligently reduce the speed of the side brush, sweep particulate matter very well, and will not easily knock away mung beans, and the cleaning effect is great. Cloud Whale J3 cannot do this.

3. Comparative test of mopping performance

In the mopping performance test, I did not choose ordinary wet garbage because it is easier to clean. Lao Wang, I used watercolor paint to smear on the ground, and then used the robot to perform the mopping test after it was completely dry.

Ecovacs T10 OMNI

Stone G10 The performance difference of OMNI is not very big. Although the mopping principles are very different, whether it is rotating mopping or flat vibrating mopping, they can be very competent in the daily mopping work of the floor, and the cleaning effect is relatively ideal. Because the Cloud Whale J3 did not have an active recognition function, it was unable to repeatedly mop and wash watercolor paints, thus failing to thoroughly clean it.

In terms of cleaning range, the rotating mop must have some cleaning blind spots between the two mops. Although it may not be easy to see with the naked eye, the cleaning power near the middle of the two rotating mops is slightly insufficient. The entire flat mop of Roborock G10S has relatively fewer blind spots.

In terms of the distance to the wall, the stone G10S flat mop is only about 2cm away from the wall. The mop shape of the Cloud Whale J3 can be relatively close to the wall, about 3cm away from the wall. The Ecovacs T10 OMNI is about 4cm away. In a normal home environment, most of the walls are covered by furniture, etc., and the three devices can achieve relatively good mopping coverage.

4. Carpet cleaning comparison test

Friends who have carpets in their families will be more concerned about this function.

Stone G10S adaptive intelligent lifting floor wiping module. After turning on the "adaptive carpet" mode, after the robot detects the carpet area, it will raise the floor wiping module to let the wet mop leave the ground without getting the carpet wet, and use the high-power vacuum function to clean the carpet in all directions.

Ecovacs T10 OMNI requires manual disassembly of the mop before cleaning the floor. Because disassembly and installation are more convenient, there is not much trouble during use. After all, the 5000Pa large suction power is quite good for cleaning short-pile carpets.

Although the Cloud Whale J3 is also equipped with a liftable mop system, due to the upper suction limit of 3000Pa, it is difficult to clean deep carpets in place. Cleaning smoother carpets is very convenient and quick, without manual operation.

Cleaning power level:

Ke Voss T10 OMNI, which can quickly clean both dry and wet garbage. The self-identifying slow-down drag sweep solves the problem of large particles of garbage being easily blown away, and can also effectively deal with stubborn stains on the ground. The carpet cleaning power is strong, but the mop needs to be manually removed.

Stone G10S, a flat vibrating mop with a large cleaning area, strong cleaning power and no water stains. The single-sided brush automatically adjusts the speed and the garbage does not fly away. The liftable mop and 5100Pa high suction power make the carpet intelligently cleaned and a good helper for household carpets.

●Cloud Whale J3, the mop covers a comprehensive area and has strong floor cleaning power. The speed of the bilateral brushes cannot be adjusted, which is slightly inconvenient. automatically recognizes carpets, lifts the mop for cleaning, and the 3000Pa suction power is basically sufficient.

Intelligent Comparison

The intelligence level of the sweeping and mopping robot directly affects the convenience of use, such as automatic obstacle avoidance, voice recognition, video calls, etc. It can not only do a better job of cleaning, truly free your hands, but also add a lot of fun, and the robot suddenly comes alive.

intelligent obstacle avoidance

intelligent obstacle avoidance function, as the most direct manifestation of robot intelligence, has become one of the essential functions of flagship models.

The AI recognition and obstacle avoidance system of Roborock G10S uses structured light for precise distance measurement, and then cooperates with sensor probes throughout the body to achieve millimeter-level accurate obstacle avoidance. When used, the stone can easily avoid various large and small objects in the home and clean every floor accurately without worrying about valuables being broken.

Ecovacs T10 OMNI uses the AIVI3.0 obstacle avoidance system, a front-facing 960P high-performance starlight-level camera, and is used with the dToF navigation module to greatly improve the obstacle avoidance capability and cleaning accuracy. In the test, Ecovacs T10 OMNI can effectively identify surrounding objects and move to avoid obstacles, and it arrived at the cleaning area relatively smoothly.

Although the Cloud Whale J3 does not have active obstacle avoidance function and needs to be touched to study the cleaning route, after several times of learning in the actual test, it can also return to the base station relatively easily after several collisions.

Video call

Unfortunately, among the three devices, only Ecovacs T10 OMNI is equipped with this function, while the upgraded version of Roborock G10S, G10S Pro, has this function. Cloud Whale J3 also does not have this configuration. The two-way video call of Ecovacs T10 OMNI is more suitable for families with babies and pets at home. It can realize the function of a family guardian angel and can also be manually controlled and recorded, which greatly increases the playability of the robot.

Voice control

●Stone G10S, as an all-round hexagonal warrior with a "5+2" high-power base station, not only has the sweeping and mopping function become more and more powerful, the cleaning effect is becoming cleaner and more efficient, and the multiple editable modes can give more possibilities for home hygiene and cleaning, truly realizing all-weather scene applications. Whether you have a family of young children or young children, newlyweds and young people can enjoy the convenience of life brought by this Roborock G10S. People like Lao Wang and I who like to use carpets but are too lazy to clean can fully feel the ease and comfort brought by technology. Especially the carpet function. Families like me who have multiple carpets at home really love it. I recommend it to friends who have carpet cleaning needs.
