Editor's note: Meizu held the Meizu Friends Conference 2022 today, and also released a HiFi player. The highlight was a review of Meizu's past 19 years and the planning of Meizu's smartphone products in 2023. At present, the Meizu 20 series should be released in the first quarter of next year, and it may also be the product of Meizu's return as the king, but will the market still wait for Meizu?

Meizu’s 19 Years
The theme of Meizu’s press conference this time is love without boundaries and 19 years with friends. There is no Meizu without Meiyou. Everything about Meizu has the shadow of Meizu. Meizu is Meizu's most valuable asset for so many years. It is because of their trust that Meizu succeeds.

As a user who once liked Meizu products, I was quite moved when I saw this. At least 7 years ago, Meizu performed well in the smartphone market overall, and it was indeed able to attract a considerable number of users who like small and beautiful products. Over the years, Meizu's market share in smartphones has continued to shrink. However, Meizu has always performed well in terms of design and product strength. However, the size is too small, which makes it unable to achieve the ultimate in core hardware and optimization, and it cannot give more concessions to Meizu fans in terms of price.

I have listed the classic models of Meizu. I think many users may be able to name a few, such as the M8, MX2, MX5 of the year, and the Meizu 15 and 16 series after the return of Huangzhang , including the most recognizable Meizu 17 and Meizu 18 in the last two generations. To be honest, Meizu is already one of the very few products in the industry that can make the white color perfect. Perhaps the only one that can compete with Meizu in aesthetic details is the white color of the iPhone. In addition, when Li Nan was still around, Meilan products also brought good memories to many student user groups. As for the Meizu flyme system, it is a customized system sought after by many people. To this day, we still believe that if Meizu involves the car system with the flyme system, it will probably beat all the car systems currently on the market.

But at the same time, we must also see Meizu’s current unstoppable decline. From its peak sales of 20 million units, now it has completely reduced itself to others, and its sales have already It has not been made public for a long time. I only know that Meizu is probably still alive. It can still make a profit by cutting off some production lines through layoffs and reducing material costs. However, in 2022, Meizu will finally be sold to Geely. This is enough to show that Meizu’s survival situation is in danger.
But we always feel that the cooperation between Meizu and Geely is actually 1+12, and there is indeed room for Meizu to play in the future. The premise is that Geely is first willing to provide good funds to Meizu, and secondly, Geely needs to quickly integrate its internal chaotic system, and then unify the vehicle and machine systems and let Meizu do it. If this can be done, it will not only be of great benefit to Geely, but also a new life for Meizu.

Will Meizu 20 be competitive?
We know that Meizu currently faces domestic flagship products, including Huawei mate series, Honor magic series, The X series of vivo and the Find series of OPPO do not include the digital flagship series of Xiaomi . It can be said that the competition among these companies is already very fierce. The hardware level of high-end products has been swept to the sky. One-inch sensors should be popular in all flagship products this year. As for fast charging, top-level screens, etc., they are completely standard.

Judging from the news that has been revealed so far, the Meizu 20 series will be equipped with an 8Gen2 processor, including lLPDDR5X memory, ufs4.0 flash memory, and the Meizu Super Flash Charge, which has been delayed, has finally made its debut this time. The Meizu 20 Series will also support the 80-watt flash charge standard. As for the screen, if nothing else goes wrong, it should be made of the current top-notch Samsung 2KE6 material. As for taking pictures, if it doesn’t have a one-inch main camera, I’m afraid it won’t be very competitive. So the only uncertainty now is whether Meizu will reduce the battery capacity for the sake of thinness. Personally, I think the battery capacity must be maintained at at least 4500 mAh to ensure better use.

As for Meizu’s flyme system, I personally think there won’t be much of an upgrade, and it should be regarded as a minor repair for Meizu’s flyme9 system. Meizu is still in the so-called reorganization state, and it should not have much spare capacity to drastically reform the flyme system. It is worth mentioning that at the press conference, another big guy was also shown, which looked like the outline of a car. Does it mean that Meizu is already producing cars or entering the field of car-machine systems?

In any case, we still hope that there will be more brands in the smartphone industry, not just competition between a few giants, because it is too boring to look at it this way. Meizu is still a manufacturer with its own creative designs. It depends on whether Meizu’s price is reasonable in the future. Will Meizu friends support it?
