Recently, Zibo was rated as a "Gigabit City" by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology . As an important part of digital infrastructure, "dual gigabit" networks represented by 5G and gigabit optical networks are not only an important "base" that supports the vigorous development of the digital economy, but are also powerful engines that drive high-quality economic and social development. The
report shows that Zibo has 21.1 5G base stations per 10,000 people, 5G users account for 45%, 10G-PON ports account for 41%, and 500M and above users account for 28%. Zibo's completion of the above four "Gigabit City" key indicators ranks among the top in Shandong Province.
It is reported that Zibo was selected as the " Broadband China " demonstration city in 2014. In 2017, it was among the first batch of old industrial cities and resource-based cities in the country's industrial transformation and upgrading demonstration zones. In 2021, it was selected as a pilot city for the coordinated development of smart city infrastructure and intelligent connected cars . Behind these honors are closely connected with the "Gigabit City".
At present, the Gigabit optical fiber network coverage rate in the city’s administrative villages has reached 100%, and all have Gigabit broadband access capabilities. 8,046 5G base stations have been built, achieving full 15G network coverage in urban areas, all towns and key administrative villages, and the 5G network accessibility rate in administrative villages has reached more than 60%. Zibo has made every effort to promote the large-scale application of 5G and Gigabit optical networks, and has successfully implemented typical application scenarios such as 5G+smart medical care, 5G+smart transportation, 5G+smart factories, and 5G+VR live broadcast. 17 projects have won awards in the national 5G and Gigabit optical network application competitions.
What does it mean for a city to become a "Gigabit City"?
Gao Zhiqiang, head of the Integration of Informatization and Informatization Section of the Municipal Industry and Information Technology Bureau, said: "The construction of Gigabit City will provide our city with strong network support, innovate and empower thousands of industries, accelerate the transformation and upgrading of industrial digitalization, and provide strong new momentum for high-quality economic development."
In our city, many companies have become practitioners and beneficiaries of industrial digitalization. HSBC Petrochemical relies on the large bandwidth, low latency, and high reliability network access capabilities of the "dual gigabit" network, and has deployed an integrated safety and environmental emergency response platform to achieve "one picture" control and built the country's first 5G smart refinery. In terms of safety management, it has realized real-time monitoring of 120 major hazard sources in the factory, enabling rapid identification of hazard sources, improving the company's safety production coefficient, and reducing corporate disaster losses by more than 10 million yuan. In terms of energy conservation and emission reduction, 39 toxic and hazardous substance monitoring stations based on 5G and industrial PON have been deployed in the factory, reducing environmental management costs for the company by more than 8 million yuan.
Donghua Technology "Cement Industry Brain" has shown strong vitality and application value as soon as it was launched. It has improved quality, reduced energy consumption, and constantly refreshed records, demonstrating the magic of " big data ". The application of the "cement industry brain" has achieved a 6.73% reduction in comprehensive energy consumption, ultra-low emissions of sulfur dioxide, , nitrogen oxides, and particulate matter, and a 10.9% reduction in emission proportions. Xu Lu, deputy general manager of Donghua Technology, said that Donghua Technology's "dual gigabit" cement industry brain will help the entire industry reduce energy consumption costs by 4.6 billion yuan in the future, and can be expanded to be used in various industries such as electricity and steel. In the agricultural field, Hefeng Seed Industry uses 5G technology to build ecological unmanned farms and realize the digitalization, intelligence and automation of ecological circular agriculture. Zhangdian District has built a 5G+ "Farmhouse Cloud" big data platform to enhance the brand value of agricultural products.
With the support of "dual gigabit" new infrastructure, traditional manufacturing has embarked on the fast lane of intelligent transformation. Boshan Mechanical and Electrical Pump Industrial Park is based on the "dual gigabit" network and builds the Boshan industrial Internet platform in accordance with the national industrial Internet standards to create a Zibo five-in-one digital industrial demonstration zone. Qilu Chemical Industry Park uses 5G and industrial Gigabit Ethernet to form a fully connected wired + wireless network in the park, creating a demonstration benchmark for chemical industry parks.
In health care, education, etc., digitalization is also subverting changes in the industry.
For example, in the medical field, Shandong Xinhua Medical has built the country's first 5G hospital smart disinfection supply center, which has reduced the labor intensity and infection risk of operators and reduced labor costs by 20%. Zibo Maternal and Child Health Hospital has built 5G+ smart pre-hospital first aid. The ambulance is mainly equipped with the artificial intelligence system based on 5G high-speed transmission, which has effectively improved the capacity building of the management system for the treatment of critically ill pregnant women.
In terms of digital education, Zibo Education has built a "dual gigabit" network of 5G + education private network to achieve AI-synchronous classroom interconnection, deliver high-quality educational resources to rural schools and remote areas, and assist the integrated reform and development of urban and rural compulsory education.
