vivo may be the first manufacturer to announce the new smartphone to adopt Qualcomm 's latest Snapdragon 8th generation processor, but Xiaomi is not willing to fall behind, and launched the Xiaomi 13 and 13 Pro last night. Both include Qualcomm's new flagship processor, but only the 13 Pro gets top-notch configurations such as a large 1-inch camera sensor and support for 120W wired charging.
More feature differences between the two phones is their cameras, and the Xiaomi 13 Pro has a total of three 50-megapixel rear cameras. The main camera uses a 1-inch Sony IMX989 sensor in the Xiaomi 12S Ultra, and adds a 50-megapixel telephoto and 50-megapixel ultra-wide angle, which supports taking macro photos from 5 cm away. Meanwhile, the main camera of Xiaomi 13 uses a smaller 1/1.49-inch 50-megapixel sensor, as well as a 12-megapixel ultra-wide angle and a 10-megapixel telephoto lens . The
screen is also different. The Xiaomi 13 Pro is equipped with a 6.73-inch 1440p display, which is curved on both sides of the device, while the Xiaomi 13's display is smaller, 6.36-inch, and is flat, with a resolution of 1080p. Both offer a 120Hz refresh rate with a peak brightness of 1900 nits. The Xiaomi 13 Pro is available in white, black, light green and light blue bodies, while the standard version of the Xiaomi 13 also offers gray and more colorful red, yellow, green and blue options. The
13 Pro has a built-in larger 4820mAh battery and faster charging speed than the previous generation. It can be wired charging up to 120W, wireless charging 50W, and supports 10W reverse wireless charging. Meanwhile, the maximum power of the standard version of Xiaomi 13 wired charging is 67W, and the wireless and reverse wireless charging speeds remain unchanged.
The two phones have dustproof waterproof rating , both IP68 (meaning they should be completely submerged in shallow water), run Xiaomi's MIUI 14 system, based on Android 13 secondary development. The two phones
are currently only announced in the Chinese market and will be shipped on December 14. But according to Xiaomi's practices on previous phones such as Xiaomi 12, they are likely to be released internationally in the coming months. In China, the base model of Xiaomi 13 starts at RMB 3999 (about US$573), with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, while the 13 Pro starts at RMB 4999 (about US$717).
