According to telecompaper on October 27, as part of the TIPOpenRAN project team, the Telecom Infrastructure Project (TIP) will work with Intel and ADI to provide OpenRAN large-scale MIMO (mMIMO) solutions to the Metaverse.

As the industry continues to support the development of the metaverse, MassiveMIMO has increased bandwidth capacity through beamforming and concentrated bandwidth on devices, thus providing a metaverse experience through a single 5G radio device. TIP's latest collaboration will produce a 5GmMIMOOpenRAN radio unit white box distributed by Intel. TIP executive director Kristian Toivo said: TIP will support the OpenRAN group plan to define and build radio solutions based on common vendor neutral hardware, open interfaces and software. Intel has played a leading role in its commitment to OpenRAN in the development of O-RU white boxes, software capabilities and a broad IP portfolio. The mMIMOO-RU white box is designed as a 32 antenna assembly broadband independent radio unit that supports open RAN interfaces and advanced software applications.
