This set of data on mobile phone sales, sales revenue, and average price changes really shocked me!
In the first three quarters of 2022 (January to September), based on mobile phone sales, the six brands with the highest market share were Apple at 25%, OPPO at 16%, VIVO was 16%, Honor , Xiaomi (Xiaomi + Redmi ) at 10%, and Huawei 9%;
Mobile sales data (Zhejiang market)
. The corresponding sales revenue share of these brands is Apple accounted for 52%, OPPO accounted for 9%, VIVO accounted for 9%, Honor accounted for 7%, Xiaomi accounted for 5%, and Huawei accounted for 10%.
Apple mobile
Among all domestic brands, only Huawei's sales share and revenue share are basically equal, while OPPO, VIVO, Honor, Xiaomi, etc. almost all have twice the sales share than the revenue share. What does
mean?
means that the average selling price of mobile phones of these brands is far lower than the average selling price of the entire mobile phone market (almost half).
Apple obtained 52% of sales revenue with a sales share of 25%, and its revenue share is more than twice the sales share.
Let’s look at the average selling price:
- Apple phone 7300 yuan;
- Huawei phone 4059 yuan;
- Honor phone 1928 yuan;
- OPPO phone 2007 yuan;
- VIVO phone 2090 yuan;
- Xiaomi 3466 yuan, Redmi 1547 yuan;
How high is the market position of Apple phone?
In the past 8 years, only Huawei has really posed a threat to Apple:
In 2019, Huawei's mobile phone sales share was 24%, and revenue share was 28%, while Apple's mobile phone sales share was 17%, and revenue share was 35% during the same period;
Huawei mobile phone
In 2020, Huawei's mobile phone sales share was 31%, and revenue share was 34%. During the same period, Apple's mobile phone sales share was 17%, and revenue share was 33%. This is the only time that a Chinese independent brand's sales share exceeded Apple mobile phones. Apple's sales revenue share has also dropped significantly for two consecutive years in 2019 and 2020, which is completely related to Huawei's mobile phones.
Xiaomi mobile
Everyone knows what happened later. Due to the blockade of the United States, Huawei cannot obtain key chips and loses the opportunity for Apple to compete for high-end use.
So in the past two years of 2021 and 2022, Apple's sales revenue share rebounded to 48% and 52%.
As of now, there is no way to see Xiaomi, OPPO, and VIVO have any competitiveness in filling Huawei's high-end mobile phone user market.
Domestic products should be self-reliant!
