After two years of lurking, Huawei finally handed over the not-so-perfect answer of Mate 50. Although Huawei's appeal is still there, it is always two irreparable regrets without Kirin core and 5G core.
The good news is that Huawei's return has finally made up for the gap in domestic mobile phones in the high-end market, so that domestic mobile phones will not once again face the strength of Apple , and lose too ugly.
In fact, Huawei's greatest contribution in the smartphone field is not that Kirin chip breaks the gap, nor that it is that the high-end market is fighting against Apple and gaining a sigh of relief for domestic mobile phones, but that Huawei is willing to use domestic parts to continuously improve the domestic production rate of flagship mobile phones, driving the development of the entire industry.
No mobile phone manufacturer can leave the supply chain
For domestic mobile phones, we always criticize them for being "assembled products" and without their own "soul". But in fact, it is impossible for every mobile phone manufacturer to make a mobile phone entirely on its own. On the contrary, even world-class mobile phone manufacturers such as Apple, , Samsung, and rely heavily on supply chain support.
Take Apple as an example. It not only relies on the support of the supply chain, but also is famous as a "supply chain master". Apple is particularly good at expanding the sources of suppliers to gain more bargaining chips for itself. For example, Apple wanted to reduce the price of its OEM Foxconn to reduce the price, which would cost less, but this was like a move to Foxconn’s cheese, which must have refused.
Then Apple began to support the domestic " Luxshare Precision " and transferred a large number of orders from Foxconn to Luxshare, resulting in a sharp drop in Foxconn's revenue. Foxconn learned a lesson and not only compromised with Apple, but also dared not say no later.
From this story we can see that relying on the supply chain is not an "ugly thing", but a necessary thing.
In fact, the real problem of domestic manufacturers is that they do not have a good control over the supply chain, and at the same time, they do not have the autonomy in some core hardware and software.
This leads to domestic mobile phone manufacturers often have no say in their own way. Not only can they not form stable control of the supply chain or form long-term and stable cooperative relationships, but they are also prone to being "silenced" because of fear of being stuck.
Huawei: To carry out the domestic supply chain to the end
If you want to control the supply chain, the best way is to use domestic products, which not only helps boost the local manufacturing industry, but also greatly reduces the risk of being trapped by the supply chain.
This is also what Huawei has been working hard to do. According to the latest news, the proportion of Huawei Mate 50 using domestic parts hits a new high, which is expected to exceed 60%!
Huawei first started using BOE panels, which is no longer news. This time, Kunlun Glass and XMAGE photography systems have further adopted parts produced by domestic manufacturers!
Huawei Mate 50 is very popular and is out of stock now, which also means that the domestic suppliers behind Huawei can also eat a lot of meat. Industrial development can only be driven by the consumer market. Under the leadership of Huawei, it is only a matter of time before the development of the domestic high-end mobile phone industry chain.
In fact, even without Huawei's support, domestic suppliers still have great strength, and they just lack opportunities. For example, Apple has used domestic parts by more than 25%, including core parts such as the Yangtze River Storage Flash Memory chip.
In general, no mobile phone manufacturer can leave the industrial chain, but not all mobile phone manufacturers use actions to support domestic products like Huawei and bring up the domestic industrial chain. The good news is that because of Huawei, many of the competitors have begun to change their minds and use domestic parts. I believe that in the future, it will not be a problem to form a complete, mature, independent and controllable industrial chain in China.
