" Microsoft will continue to have an annual feature update cycle, released in the second half of the calendar year marking the beginning of the support lifecycle, with a support period of 24 months for the Home and Professional version and a support period of 36 months for the Enterprise and Education version."
Microsoft said it will rely on updates from the Microsoft Store to further refine the Windows 11 experience, although this obviously focuses on improvements specifically for first-party applications.
"We are committed to providing continuous innovation, releasing new features to Windows 11 at a higher frequency through our service technologies such as monthly updates, and Microsoft Store updates, as well as our annual update process. Our goal is to provide you with the best experience throughout the year with the processes we are familiar with when new features are ready based on quality and reliability," the company said.
Windows 11 2022 update can be used to trigger manual update checks today for qualified devices. Of course, users can also choose to go to the official website to complete the upgrade by downloading images, using installation assistants and installation media creation tools.
