It is reported that due to technical engineering challenges, Apple 's new consumer credit service Apple Pay Later - allows eligible U.S. customers to split their purchases into four equal payments within six weeks, and the service will be postponed until 2023.
Apple announced on WWDC in June that Apple Pay Later will appear in "future update" for iOS 16, but the company did not provide a specific time frame. Bloomberg's Mark Gulman said in his newsletter today that the service is likely to face delays and will be launched in the spring with the iOS 16.4 update.
This leads me to believe that the company is not entirely sure when Apple Pay Later will be available. This feature may not appear until the spring iOS 16.4. I heard that there were considerable technical and engineering challenges in launching this service, resulting in delays.
Apple Pay Later will be built directly into the wallet app and can be used in online shopping and apps on iPhone and iPad. The wallet app is also getting other new features along with the upcoming Apple Pay Later service, such as the ability to track online orders, etc.
