At present, the domestic desktop operating systems are mainly Microsoft Windows system, supplemented by Apple macOS, and are almost monopolized by foreign companies. In this case, it is easy to get "stuck" by foreigners. Some time ago, and Microsoft banned Russian users from downloading Windows systems, which is a lesson from the past. Therefore, the importance of developing your own local domestic desktop operating system is self-evident.
Recently, my country's first desktop operating system root community "Open Kirin" was released, aiming to build a top open source community for desktop operating systems and create an open source desktop operating system with independent innovative technology.
We know that as people pay more and more attention to domestic operating systems in recent years, some powerful companies have also built their own operating systems based on Linux kernel , such as Deepin system, ZTE New Pivot Operating System, Winning Bid Kirin, Qidian operating system and the Zhongke Founder system released a few days ago are all very representative. Although from a technical perspective, these operations are not much different from Microsoft and macOS in terms of startup speed and application, the ecological gap is fatal, and many professional application software are still lacking. . This is also an important reason why domestic desktop operating systems have too many branches but cannot replace Windows systems.
In addition, although today's domestic operating systems are basically developed based on the Linux kernel, the application software they can run is not universal. Therefore, it is very difficult for software developers to adapt to various operating systems at the same time. As a result, developers who are already isolated cannot use their efforts in one direction, so the speed of ecological construction is very slow.
Based on this current situation, National Industrial Information Security Development Research Center and Puhua Basic Software , Zhongke Fangde, Kirin Xin'an, Ningsi Software, Yiming Software, ZTE New Pivot, Yuanxin Technology, More than ten industry colleagues, including China Electronics Technology Institute of 32, Jide Systems, Beijing Linzhuo, and Advanced Operating System Innovation Center, jointly established the openKylin community. The goal is to formulate unified standards and then create an open source desktop operation with independent innovative technology. system. To put it simply, the openKylin platform is used to develop a unified national standard. All domestic system and application developers stationed on this platform will adopt this unified standard, which will greatly increase the speed of building the domestic system application ecosystem. It is very beneficial for the development of domestic operating systems as soon as possible.
Generally speaking, the biggest difficulty in the development of current domestic desktop operating systems is the lack of application software ecology. How to solve the problem of quantity and quality of application software development requires the joint efforts of software developers, and the establishment of the open Kirin platform will unify standards and accelerate the construction of domestic system application software ecosystem.
