During the period of the Qing Dynasty, there was a Niulan Mountain in the pass, and there was a small mountain village at the foot of the mountain. The village was not big, with only about forty households. The villagers made a living by hunting and cutting firewood. Among them was a young man named Du Xiaoshuai, one of the most powerful hunters in the area.
Du Xiaoshuai likes to hunt deer, mink, yellow leather and other animals in the mountains, and bring their furs to the town to sell. Because the furs he sells are of high quality, fur traders often come to pick them up. Relying on this business, Du Xiaoshuai earned a lot of money, married a beautiful wife, and gave birth to a clever and intelligent daughter.
This afternoon, Du Xiaoshuai and his wife were not at home, leaving only his daughter to look after the door. While she was playing in the courtyard, she suddenly heard a knock on the door. When she looked through the crack in the door, she saw that the person who came was a short old man with a mustache and was well-dressed, only showing a thin face.

The old man has a pair of slanted eyes and a half-smiling expression, which looks very strange. He also saw the girl behind the door through the crack in the door, and said: "Son, is your father at home? I'm here to discuss business with him!"
Although Du Xiaoshuai's daughter had never seen him, she knew that fur traders often came to visit her, so she thought he was a fur trader who purchased goods. She opened the door and welcomed him into the yard, saying that her father had gone out hunting and her mother had gone to town. If she had anything to do, she would have to wait. The old man nodded, then sat in the yard without saying a word, and began to scan around.
Soon, Du Xiaoshuai came back. He was carrying a grass cage, which contained a big yellow man with shiny fur. The yellow-skinned belly was slightly bulging, as if she was pregnant.
After the old man saw him, he quickly stood up to greet him, but his eyes fell on the yellow-skinned one. After some conversation, Du Xiaoshuai realized that this person was a fur trader who had been introduced, and he happened to be interested in the yellow leather that Du Xiaoshuai had caught.

Du Xiaoshuai didn’t plan to sell this yellow leather piece, but was going to make a scarf for his wife. He wanted to see off the guests, but the old man suddenly stretched out five fingers: "Mr. Du, don't worry, you If you are willing to sell this piece of yellow leather to me, how about five ingots of gold?"
Hearing this, Du Xiaoshuai's eyes widened. Five ingots of gold are enough for their family to live happily for a long time, so he immediately agreed to the deal. But the old man said that he didn't have the money with him and it would take the next day to deliver it. However, in the meantime, he hoped that Du Xiaoshuai could take good care of the yellow skin.
After the two chatted for a while, the old man left. As soon as he left, Du Xiaoshuai's wife came back. He happily told his wife about the incident, but his wife sneered, thinking that there was no such thing as a pie in the sky in the world. No matter how good the skin on the yellow skin was, it couldn't be worth five ingots of gold. The man must be teasing Du Xiaoshuai. What's more, if he is really a fur goods dealer, looking for someone to buy goods, how could he not have any money with him? If he is really sincere, he must at least give a deposit first.

Du Xiaoshuai suddenly realized what his wife said. In this way, it seemed that he had been fooled. Du Xiaoshuai was so angry that he kicked the straw cage containing Huangpizi away. When his daughter saw this, she took a stick and stabbed Huangpizi, completely ignoring that Huangpizi was pregnant and about to give birth.
After a night like this, Du Xiaoshuai was woken up by a fierce knock on the door early the next morning. When he went out, he saw that the person who came was the old man who claimed to be a fur trader yesterday. More importantly, he actually brought five ingots of gold. Du Xiaoshuai was dumbfounded and hurriedly looked for the yellow-skinned bird, only to find that the yellow-skinned bird was already dead.
Despite this, Du Xiaoshuai still did not intend to give up this business, so he decided to accept two ingots of gold less from the old man. For this reason, he walked to the door of his house with a straw cage in his arms, told the truth about the situation, and claimed that the yellow leather boy died not long ago, which did not affect the quality of the fur, and he could receive two less gold ingots.

After hearing this, the old man's face changed slightly, as if he didn't listen to Du Xiaoshuai's words, but stared straight at the yellow-skinned body. In the end, the old man kept the five ingots of gold, and said something confusing before taking them away: "These three ingots of gold are payment, and the other two ingots of gold are used to buy other things!"
Du Xiaoshuai didn't take these words to heart. After getting the five ingots of gold, he danced excitedly, and his wife also urged him to go to the town to pawn them for money.
came to the pawnshop in the town. He wanted to exchange more money, but the pawnshop owner said that these five gold ingots were burial objects and were not registered, so they were not easy to circulate, so the exchange money would naturally be less. Du Xiaoshuai was very angry, thinking that the old man had cheated him, but since he had a lot of money, he didn't care.

But when he rushed home, he was dumbfounded. His wife and daughter were all hanged in the room. After just one trip, so many changes happened at home. Du Xiaoshuai was sad and confused, and he did not think that his wife and daughter would commit suicide.
In order to figure out the matter, Du Xiaoshuai asked a Taoist priest for help. After the Taoist priest learned the ins and outs of the matter, he walked around the yard with the Bagua plate, and finally stopped in front of the grass cage, where the yellow leather bird was placed. The Taoist priest knelt down and took a look, then shook his head and sighed: "Oh, Mr. Du, you just took the money to buy your life!"

It turned out that the old man was not a fur trader at all, but a yellow leather man who had become a spirit. The Huang Pizi captured by Du Xiaoshuai was his wife. He wanted to save his pregnant wife, but who would have thought that Huang Pizi died in Du Xiaoshuai's home. He gave Du Xiaoshuai two more gold ingots to buy the lives of his wife and children.
After learning the truth, Du Xiaoshuai was shocked. After taking care of his wife and daughter's funeral, he suddenly went crazy and shouted all day long that he would go up the mountain to seek revenge from Huang Pizi. A few days later, he went into the mountains on a rainy night and fell off a cliff to his death.
