There is a Buddhist disciple named Li Poduo. One day before he became a Buddha, he went somewhere alone, and at night passed by the wilderness, with no village in front and no hostel in the back. He saw a small pavilion beside the road, so he planned to spend the night here.
But he was always trembling in his heart and thought to himself: Will there be ghosts in this wilderness?
In the middle of the night, a ghost came to the pavilion, dragging a corpse in his hand.
At this time, Li Poduo was so scared that his whole body was trembling, creepy and extremely frightened, so he had to hide beside him and peep at the ghost's every move.
After a while, another evil ghost came and said it was his body. The two ghosts argued with each other, and they did not give in to each other, and it was difficult to decide the outcome. After a period of argument, the ghost who came first said: "Let's not argue, let's ask a witness to judge who the body belongs to." The ghost later agreed.
The two ghosts said to Venerable Li Poduo together: "We want to ask you to help and make our judgment. To be fair, who does this corpse belong to?"
At this time, Venerable Li Poduo was so scared that he didn't know what to do. He thought to himself: "Am I tell the truth or tell lies? If it is to be honest, the ghosts who later will definitely lose their temper and harm me; if they don't tell the truth, the ghosts who come first will also lose their temper, which is not good for me. No matter whether they say the false, they will be killed. It's really unlucky, they will encounter such strange things!"
Just when he was in a dilemma, he thought that he was a monk and the monk did not lie, so he simply told the truth, so he told the truth.
The later evil ghost really got angry and ate Li Poduo's limbs and left.
Li Poduo's limbs were swallowed into his stomach by the evil ghost, and his body and heart were also painful, and he couldn't bear it and made a painful sound.
This was heard by the ghost who came first, so he developed a compassionate heart, walked up to him, comforted him and said: "Please be patient and let me think of a way to restore your limbs to its original state." After
finished speaking, he took off the limbs of the corpse and put them on Li Poduo's limbs, so that his limbs were intact and his actions were normal.
Venice Li Poduo couldn't understand it: How can the limbs of a dead body be combined with my body?
He went to ask the Buddha early the next morning: "...What is this?"
The Buddha told him: " human body is composed of the combination of the four false elements. five aggregates do not exist, not the real ."
He listened to the truth that the Buddha said, and suddenly realized the Arhat fruit. Therefore, his Buddhist name is translated as false and combined .
