When I was in elementary school, I always looked forward to July coming soon. Because as soon as July arrives, schools will be on summer vacation. Summer vacation is not as good as winter vacation, it only lasts for two months! During these two long months, I could run in the fields as much as I wanted.
Every summer vacation, my sister and I always stay at my aunt’s house. My aunt's two children are similar in age to us, so the fields became a place for the four of us to have fun.
My aunt’s family grows melons and fruits every year, and watching melons has become our greatest joy. In addition to growing watermelons, my aunt also grows lazy melons. Lazy melons mature earlier than watermelons. This kind of melon wears a green coat and has golden pulp inside.
There is no end to the lazy melons grown by my aunt, and they will be sold to the vendors who come to collect the melons. As long as my aunt and uncle sell melons, the four of us will happily run to the fields to help pick melons.

After the lazy melons go down, the watermelon garden will open. Our "battlefield" has also shifted from the lazy man's melon patch to the watermelon patch. My aunt and uncle would build a shack for us in the field to watch the melons.

My aunt's youngest daughter is unruly and willful, always wanting to win every time. But the god of luck will not come to her every time. If she loses, her sharp cries will echo over the entire watermelon field.
None of us liked her crying, so we swarmed into the watermelon field to catch grasshoppers. The little cousin saw that we all stopped watching her performance and found it boring, so she gradually stopped crying.

We catch grasshoppers to feed the chickens. Although my aunt raised a few chickens, she was busy in the fields all day long and could not even care about feeding the chickens. Therefore, chickens cannot lay eggs on time. If we can catch a few grasshoppers for the chickens, they will lay eggs on time.
After catching the grasshoppers, we will use foxtail grass to penetrate their bodies. There can be many grasshoppers on one foxtail plant, but be sure to keep an eye on them. If the foxtail accidentally falls to the ground, those grasshoppers may actually escape.
Of course, in addition to catching grasshoppers, catching butterflies is also one of our greatest pleasures. Unfortunately, most of the butterflies we caught were white. Occasionally we encountered a yellow butterfly, but it always escaped.
