phenomics is a systematic measurement and characterization of the physical, chemical and biological characteristics of organisms from macro to microscopic, and is a bridge connecting organisms' genotypes and phenotypes. phenomics research is the only way to use human genome sequence information to fully understand human gene function and life activities. As another strategic commanding height after the Human Genome Project, phenomics research will provide a new breakthrough for biomedical research, and will lead the development of biomedical science and play a role in "turning stones into gold" in the field of medical and health.

three "world firsts"

has made breakthrough progress and achieved three "world firsts": First, build the world's first cross-scale, multi-dimensional, one-stop human phenotype group precision measurement platform. Fudan University has built the world's first cross-scale, multi-dimensional human phenotype precision measurement center for at the Zhangjiang Fudan International Innovation Center, which can integrate human phenotypes from multiple scales from macro to micro in one-stop.

is the second one to complete the world's first natural population deep phenotype cohort to measure more than 24,000 phenotypes per person . The human phenotype group precision measurement platform covers four measurement modules, molecular phenotype, functional phenotype and imaging phenotype, and 17 phenotype research fields. The annual panoramic phenotypic test flux can reach 100 people, and each individual can measure about 24,000 phenotypic indicators. The platform has established a series of leading domestic and foreign phenotype measurement technologies with independent intellectual property rights, laying the foundation for formulating a standard system for human phenotype measurement.

Third, draws the first human phenotype group navigation map , and discovers strong associations between more than 1.5 million phenotypes. About 39% of these are cross-scale associations, and most of them are the first time the scientific community has seen. Under the guidance of the panoramic navigation map, phenomics research can obtain a large amount of multi-dimensional and cross-scale correlation information, thereby guiding the discovery and verification of new phenotype regulatory mechanisms.

International Human phenotype group research collaborative group was jointly initiated by Academician Leroy Hood, Academician Jeremy Nicolson, National Phenomenon, Academician of Fudan University, China and Shanghai International Human Phenotype Group Research Institute Jinli Academician . Phenotypic data is the core key to synergistically advancing the international scientific plan for the human phenotype.

Recently, more than 30 collaborative groups from 14 countries and many top scientists in the field of phenoomics jointly advocated the construction of the Global Human Phenotype Group Database (PhenoBank) , and plans to complete the first phase of construction and realize formal operation services in 2025. PhenoBank will be built into a global multi-center human phenotype data collection, management, distribution and collaboration platform. provides services to scientists participating in phenotype research around the world, and provides a platform and technical basis for ultimately achieving the goal of mapping a global "navigation map" of human phenotype groups.
