According to the WeChat official account of " China Biologics ", recently, World Health Organization (WHO) expanded the recommended age of the new coronavirus inactivated vaccine (Vero cells) developed and produced by Sinopharm Group's Beijing Biologics Institute to over 60 years old. The safety and effectiveness of the use of vaccine aged 218 and above has been approved by WHO .
In the official website of the WHO, the recommended age for the inactivated COVID-19 vaccine of Sinopharm Group China Biologics Institute of Biological Products has been adjusted to people aged 18 and above.
On May 7, 2021, Director-General of the World Health Organization (WHO) Tedros Adhanom Adhanom Ghebreyesus announced that Sinopharm Group China Biotechnology Beijing Institute of Biological Products has obtained the WHO emergency use authorization and is included in the global "Emergency Use List" (EUL). The vaccine has become the first China COVID-19 vaccine emergency use certification approved by the WHO, and is also the first non-Western country's new crown vaccine approved by the WHO. It has taken a leap forward in realizing the accessibility and affordability of China's new crown vaccine as a global public product, especially in developing countries.
On August 23, 2022, the World Health Organization (WHO) announced that China has passed the National Regulatory System of Vaccine (NRA) assessment. Through the evaluation, it demonstrates that my country's vaccine supervision system benchmarks against international standards, regulatory capabilities and levels, and can ensure the safety, effectiveness and controllable quality of vaccine products, thereby better protecting people's health. At the same time, it has created good conditions for my country's vaccine products to go abroad and help the development of world public health.
As of now, four vaccines developed and produced by Sinopharm Group China Biologics have been approved by the WHO.
