China News Service, Harbin, May 10 (Han Huijun and Jiang Hui) On the 10th, the Heilongjiang Bureau of Surveying, Mapping and Geographical Information announced that Zhu Lizhong, members of the Heilongjiang Bureau of Surveying, Mapping and Geographical Information who participated in China's 37th Antarctic expedition, Two team members from Tang Zhu recently completed the surveying and mapping mission successfully, and returned from the Antarctic with the "Xuelong 2" to the dock of the domestic base for polar investigation in Shanghai.
This expedition is the first time for the "Xuelong 2" to carry out a one-ship, four-sea circumnavigation of the Antarctic. The expedition set off on November 10, 2020, which lasted 179 days and traveled more than 36,000 nautical miles.
Zhang Tijun, the leader of China's 37th Antarctic expedition, said that over the years, the Heilongjiang Bureau of Surveying, Mapping and Geographic Information has made important contributions to the development and growth of my country's polar research undertaking, and surveying, mapping and geographic information work has become an important part of polar scientific research. This scientific expedition successfully completed the Antarctic Great Wall Station , Zhongshan Station material supply and personnel rotation tasks, carried out the Southern Ocean ecosystem and marine environment comprehensive survey, and successfully recovered the westerly belt environmental monitoring buoy. It has withstood the test of the new crown pneumonia epidemic, ensured that the expedition team has "zero infection", successfully implemented the rescue operation of the international Antarctic expedition team, successfully carried out international cooperation in the supply of Antarctic expedition materials, and achieved a number of scientific research results.
