Wang Zhiqiu: He has never looked back in his life to serve as the power source for Chinese ships.
From the "Liaoning" to the first domestically produced aircraft carrier, the efforts of tens of thousands of experts and scholars have been gathered. As one of the witnesses and founders of China's ship power development from the digestion and absorption of imported models to localization, Wang Zhiqiu devoted his life's light and heat to the development of China's ship power, spilling his blood and turning his black hair into white hair.

In more than half a century of ship power learning, teaching and scientific research, Wang Zhiqiu has made important contributions to the country's aircraft carrier construction and naval undertakings. When China encountered thorny problems in the power system of its first aircraft carrier, the Liaoning, Wang Zhiqiu shouldered this responsibility for the country without hesitation. In the end, he directed the scientific research team to undertake the analysis of power system theory and basic technology, providing reliable basis and strong support for the normal operation of the power system.
Responsible for the country without hesitation Gu
"Harbin Engineering University must take responsibilities for the country without hesitation." When the country encounters difficulties in the power of ships, Wang Zhiqiu will give such a firm answer. Wang Zhiqiu's responsibility is not to take orders in times of crisis, but to take the initiative when he sees the country encountering difficulties. This rare spirit of responsibility infects every generation of "motivators" at Harbin Engineering University.

During the debugging process of a US$500 million DANA project of a Chinese company, "Hope No. 6", the oil pump imported from Western Europe encountered a problem of excessive vibration. If this link is delayed, it will affect the delivery of the entire project. The efforts of foreign suppliers, shipowners, shipyards and other parties have not found the source of the problem. At this time, the Vibration and Noise Research Institute extended a helping hand in time. The responsibility and team spirit of the School of Power Engineering of Harbin Engineering University were clearly demonstrated in the "Hope 6" incident. After receiving the call, the school immediately organized a team to go to the site for testing. At the same time, many teachers, led by Wang Zhiqiu, conducted remote analysis and diagnosis in Harbin. The entire team worked overtime and discussed repeatedly, and finally found the root cause of the problem and guided the improvement plan. "Hope No. 6" can be delivered in time.
After on-site investigation, Wang Zhiqiu reminded the team members to use innovative thinking to solve the problem. After 6 days and 5 nights of hard work, the team solved the fault by adjusting the control algorithm without moving a screw, saving the shipyard 120 million yuan in expenses.
Dedicated to the development of ship power
The mission calls for responsibility. After several generations of hard work, Chinese ships have risen in the world, and the core power is moving towards the stage of independent research and development. Wang Zhiqiu was born in Tianjin in September 1935. After graduating from the Internal Combustion Engine Department of the Naval Engineering Department of Harbin Engineering University in 1961, he stayed at the school to teach and began to devote himself to the development of Chinese ship power. In 1955, when Wang Zhiqiu set foot in "Harbin Military Industry" for the first time, he forged a lifelong bond with Chinese ship power. As a fourth-term trainee of the "Harbin Military Industry", he and his classmates came together with a passion for serving the country and an ambition to join the national defense cause, and started the study and research of Chinese ship power that has been with him throughout his life.

Cultivate students through words and deeds to contribute to the motherland
When an old professor who was over seventy years old slowly stepped onto the podium to receive the certificate of lifelong honorary professor, the venue burst into warm applause. Wang Zhiqiu went from an ordinary Harbin military industrial student to a ship power expert. He devoted most of his life and energy to ship power technology research and talent training, cultivating a large number of top talents for the country. After retirement, he has insisted on returning to school every week to tell his story to current students.
"Teacher Wang's relationship with our students is like that of a father and son. He not only cares about our studies but also guides us to be useful people to society." Li, one of Wang Zhiqiu's most protégés Wanyou has always kept in mind the teacher's teachings: "When you can create value, you will have a kind of fun, and you will like this major." Wang Zhiqiu's story has infected many students at Harbin Engineering University, and these students have made remarkable achievements in the field of Chinese ship power.
Inheriting his father’s patriotic and dedicated character

Wang Zhiqiu is the son of Wang Yunsheng, the former editor-in-chief of Ta Kung Pao . He was born into a well-known newspaper family and was infiltrated by traditional Chinese culture. The four words "a humble gentleman" can best sum up Professor Wang Zhiqiu's personality and conduct. As early as when he resolutely chose to study in the Harbin Military Industry when he was young, his "quickness in conduct" was perfectly reflected. "Influenced by my father, our brothers and sisters all love New China. As soon as Shanghai was liberated, the older children in the family joined the army and went south with the People's Liberation Army. My brother and I graduated from high school at the same time. When I was in my third year of high school, the admissions director of Harbin Military Industry came to talk to me. At that time, I was very excited when I heard that Harbin Military Industry and Dean Chen Geng were there. When asked if I would like to become an officer after graduation, of course young people would agree. "Wang Zhiqiu said this in the interview. Wang Zhiqiu said, "I learned the spirit of patriotism, dedication and responsibility from my father, and this spirit has been used in my own career. "When the country encounters difficult problems, Wang Zhiqiu takes the initiative every time instead of taking orders at the last moment.
