Hello,
Here is the "Boyang Aesthetic Tribe" updated daily 2003
Everything has its origins. How did the masters who are at the forefront of science spend their childhood, or what questions did they think about? Cognitive scientist Hou Shida recorded his first moment of waking up like a dream in his book "I am a Vicious Circle".

Cognitive scientist Hou Shida
Douglas Richard Hofstadter, February 15, 1945-), Chinese name Hou Shida, is an American scholar and writer. His major research areas include consciousness, analogy, artistic creation, literary translation, and mathematical and physics exploration.
Hou Shida was born in New York City, USA. His father is the physicist Robert Hofstadt, the winner of the Nobel Prize in and is a professor at Stanford University. Hou Shida grew up on the university campus and attended Geneva International School from 1958 to 1959. In 1965, Hou Shida graduated from Stanford University with excellent mathematics and obtained a Ph.D. in physics from , University of Oregon, in 1975.
House is an outstanding professor of cognitive science , the School of Arts and Sciences of Indiana University, and is in charge of the Center for Concept and Cognitive Research. He himself and the graduate students he coached formed a "Fluid Analogy Research Group".

"I am a vicious circle" by Hou Shida
"I am a vicious circle" believes that the essence of self and consciousness is a "vicious circle", which resides in our brain as an abstract feedback. Of course, the author humorously said that the title of the book can also be changed to "You Are a Vicious Circle". The study of self-awareness comes from the author's experience of "waking up like a dream" in his youth.
Hou Shida reflected on "me".
He said that was about one day when I was sixteen or seventeen years old. I was thinking with my breath and suddenly woke up like a dream. Since then, I have always believed that what we call "consciousness" is nothing more than a fantasy . It is certain that this must be a rather special illusion, because this illusion can perceive itself, and it is obvious that it does not believe that what it perceives is a illusion; but no matter what, it is still a illusion after all. This cunning phenomenon called "consciousness" seems to lift itself upside down with its own shoelaces. It seems to create itself out of nothingness, and then whenever someone wants to observe it more carefully, it collapses and returns to nothingness on its own.
He wrote at that time: We should be more careful when saying "I know"; and when our minds want us to say "I know", we must also think carefully, what exactly does this mean .
A teenager can have such a reflection ability! Consciousness is like a illusion. The author just happened to share the interpretation of "Mysterious Illusion" in the reading party a few days ago.

What is the self? Not only is the focus of modern science, but our ancients have also reflected on themselves for thousands of years, of course, perhaps earlier.
