At 10:42 am on November 1, the West Management Station of the Jiugongshan Nature Reserve Management Committee released an national second-class protected animal pine sparrow hawk. When the station staff saw the pine sparrow eagle flying away in the air, they breathed a long sigh of relief.
At around 10 a.m., staff members Xu Hui, Liu Bingsheng and others conducted daily patrols in the mountains and forests around Xiyu Station. Suddenly, a big bird was entangled by vine on the branch and struggled constantly. They immediately stepped forward to rescue and inspect, and informed the Jiugongshan epidemic source and epidemic monitoring station Meng Jie.
Meng Jie quickly rushed to the Xiyu Management Station and carefully inspected and found that the bird was not injured. He reported to the city rescue center experts to confirm that it was a pine sparrow hawk, which is a national second-class protected animal.
Pine sparrow hawk is a bird of the genus Eagle family Eagle. It is a medium-sized dark eagle. It usually lives in mountain coniferous forests, broad-leaved forests and mixed forests. In winter, it will be active and alert in mountainous areas with lower altitudes. It is difficult for people to get close to and often live alone. I like to make nests with branches on trees 6-13 meters high. The bird is a rare species and is relatively rare in southern Hubei. The staff quickly released the pine sparrow hawk according to the experts' requirements.
