According to a report by the Russian Satellite News Agency on the 17th, in order to minimize the harmful effects of keratin waste on the environment, a team of Indian scientists led by Professor Pandit of the Bombay Institute of Chemical Technology proposed a unique solution to transform hair into Fertilizer, animal feed.
According to reports, in India, about 300,000 tons of hair become garbage every year. Although hair is biodegradable, improper handling can cause clogging and other serious environmental problems.

"India produces a large amount of human hair, poultry feathers and wool every year. These wastes are dumped, landfilled or incinerated, increasing environmental pollution and threats to public health, and increasing These wastes actually have the potential to be used as animal feed and fertilizer.”
The team’s scientists use advanced oxidation technology to convert the waste into useful fertilizer and animal feed. The most important part of the whole process is the pretreatment, and then the hydrodynamic cavitation technology is used to hydrolyze the keratin.
Currently, these scientists are collaborating with Revoltech Technologies in Gujarat, India, to develop this patented solution for large-scale applications.
