Science and Technology Daily reporter Wu Changfeng
The reporter learned from the Institute of Plasma, Hefei Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Sciences that the contract task for the development of the Dewar ultra-large rectangular bellows under the ITER program of the International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor has made important progress, and the development has been successful. The world's largest and most difficult multi-layer rectangular corrugated pipe has passed the final design review of the ITER international organization expert group and entered the mass production stage.
ITER Dewar rectangular bellows is an important part connecting the vacuum chamber window, the Dewar and the biological shielding layer. Its main function is to ensure the vacuum airtightness of the window position of the tokamak device, and also to compensate the window under various working conditions. The relative displacement of the position is one of the important safety components of the ITER device. Due to the large size of the rectangular corrugated pipe, the number of layers, the high tolerance requirements, and it must be formed at one time, these strict requirements bring great challenges to the technology, and there is no research and development precedent for reference in the world.
Under the organization and leadership of the ITER Center of the Ministry of Science and Technology, the research and development team jointly formed by the Institute of Plasma and Nanjing Chenguang Dongluo Corrugated Pipe Co., Ltd. won the international bidding with Germany, Switzerland and other European countries, and obtained the Dewar rectangular corrugated pipe. Development and mass production contracts, a total of 91 rectangular corrugated pipes. This is another cash contract obtained by my country through international competition in the ITER project. The
project team, relying on independent innovation for two years, has successively overcome a series of key technical problems such as the design and process of large-scale rectangular bellows integrated forming machine, multi-cylinder synchronous precision control technology, and large-scale multi-layer rectangular bellows forming dynamic simulation and monitoring technology. The ITER Dewar rectangular bellows was successfully developed. The developed sample showed excellent performance in the pressure test. The change rate of the wave pitch under 0.2 MPa pressure was less than 6%, which was far less than the 15% required by ITER. The overall deformation of the rear bellows is less than 2 mm.
ITER The successful development of Dewar's super-large rectangular bellows marks that my country's large-scale non-standard bellows design and development technology has entered the forefront of the world, demonstrating China's innovation and creativity, for the design and construction of future fusion reactors and large-scale nuclear power equipment and other fields, requiring large and complex cross-sections The design, development and process exploration of multi-layer corrugated pipes have laid a solid foundation.
